MLB FanDuel Gut Feeling 6/23
Last night was a good night for 50/50s for my team, thanks to Dozier and Kiermaier. Martinez didn’t pan out like I thought he would, but he still had two RBIs. My winning lineup from yesterday is posted at the bottom of this article. Now on to tonight’s action. Don’t forget to check your lineups shortly before first pitch for any scratches:
Pitcher: David Price $10,700
I was originally going to go Jesse Chavez here but he’s not the same pitcher on the road. Most of the pitchers tonight are hit or miss so I decided to go with a sure thing tonight. Price threw a complete game shutout last time he faced the Indians. While I don’t expect that again he should be sharp and get a win for you tonight.
Catcher: Wilson Ramos $3,000
Ramos is batting .333 his last four games and is home against the rival Braves. The hot hitting Nats should stay hot tonight against Alex Wood.
First Baseman: Miguel Cabrera $5,200
Cabrera continued his dominance over Cleveland last night going 2-3 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored. Like I said yesterday, Miggy will be in my lineup for this entire series.
Second Baseman: Ian Kinsler $2,900
When you’re hitting in front of a player like Miguel Cabrera, pitchers will want to get you out. Which means you get a lot more favorable pitches. Kinsler went 2-4 last night with a walk and expect similar numbers tonight.
Third Baseman: Trevor Plouffe: $2,700
With Price and Cabrera taking up so much cap space we are now entering the value portion of the lineup. Plouffe is hitting cleanup for a Twins team that hits very well at home. And with Samardzija on the mound for the White Sox, Plouffe could be in for a good night. I think he takes Brady Quinn’s favorite wide receiver deep tonight. Plouffe is my Ultimate Gut Call.
The Orioles begin a series in Boston tonight and I like Hardy’s matchup tonight against Joe Kelly. Hardy has good power potential for a player at his price point.
Outfielder: Mitch Moreland $2,600
Moreland has been struggling recently, he hasn’t had a multi-hit game since June 13th. Oakland pitcher Jesse Chavez doesn’t pitch as well on the road, and Texas is definitely a hitters ballpark in the summer month. This seems like a good bounce back opportunity for Moreland.
Outfielder: Michael Taylor $2,600
I’ll admit it, this is definitely a “homer pick”. I love the way he plays, plain and simple. And he always seems to come up with the big hit when he’s at the plate. Speaking of hitting, he has a base hit in eight of his past nine games. He’s also a threat on the base paths. Taylor could be in line for a good game tonight against Wood and the Braves.
Outfielder: Cameron Maybin $2,900
Maybin has been hitless the past three games but has gotten on base on all three of those games via four walks in those games. With Strasburg returning from the DL it could either be a dominant performance by the Nats pitcher or another night of him passing out hits like parents on Halloween. I’m banking on something in the middle. Maybin should get back on track tonight.

Confidence Level: 3.5 out of 5
I have average confidence in this lineup. The stars should perform but I’m relying on a few players to break out of slumps. While this lineup should be good for 50/50s, I wouldn’t use it in a GPP.
