MLB FanDuel Gut Feeling 7/4- Afternoon Edition

I hope everyone has a great Fourth of July and stay safe!  I for one am not going to downtown DC tonight, I’ve lived in the DC area my whole life and I don’t feel like dealing with the crowds today.  But enough about me, on to today’s picks.  Any of the games after 2:15 I’m going off of regular lineups that those teams use so I’m banking on not getting any scratches.  Please check right before 1pm to see if any of the later games have official lineups:

Pitcher: Kendall Graveman $5,400
Graveman has pitched very well as of late, accumulating 10+ points on FanDuel in seven of his past nine starts.  Seattle is very erratic when it comes to good hitting games and I don’t see them stringing together two good games in a row on the road.

Catcher: Victor Martinez $3,300
Despite Martinez being a career .182 hitter against Dickey, he’s been swinging a hot bat lately (over 3 FanDuel points in four of the past five games).  Martinez  could be in for a better game than history dictates.

First Baseman: Mark Teixeira $3,200
The Yankees tend to have their higher scoring games of the season at home during the weekends.  And while Tampa has been hot recently with their pitching and defense I had to pick at least one Yankee and this is it.  Teixeria is my Ultimate Gut Call.

Second Baseman: Jose Altuve $4,600
Altuve has back to back three hit games and faces a pitcher in Buchholz who surrenders a hit per inning on average.  Altuve could be looking at another multi-hit game today.

Third Baseman: Manny Machado $4,100
Is there any third baseman over the past couple of weeks that has been hotter at the plate than Machado? And he’s facing the very hittable Samardzija today in Chicago.

Shortstop: Alexi Ramirez $2,300
In order to have really good hitting lineup you have to go cheap somewhere, and Ramirez fits that mold.  He hasn’t been hitting well lately but Chris Tillman can give up a lot of hits and runs so Ramirez could be a good play here.

Outfielder: Brandon Moss $3,100
Moss has been on fire since the calendar turned to July with two homers in the first three days of the month.  I’m hoping the streak continues today.

Outfielder: Andrew McCutchen $4,300
Another outfielder who’s been hot since July began.  Indians pitcher Cody Anderson pitched really well last time out but the Pirates offense will be a big test today.

Outfielder: JD Martinez $4,300
Martinez rounds out my hot hitting outfield.  With five homers in his last eight games he’s been going yard often.  He also has at least one hit in seven of those past eight games.  Let’s hope it continues today

Confidence Level: 4 out of 5
Let’s see if these hot streaks continue.  Good luck everyone!
