MLB FanDuel Gut Feeling 7/9- Evening Edition
I have been participating in the Survivor Pool on FanDuel and I’m happy to say that I have made it through the second round thanks to my final lineup that I posted on Twitter last night (follow me for any last second lineup changes). Although even if you had used my original you would’ve been okay in that pool since Kershaw alone would’ve been enough to advance you. The next round of the pool is Friday night. But on to tonight’s slate:
Pitcher: David Price $11,000
I like Price tonight but my confidence isn’t as high as it normally would be with him. While he has pitched well his past few starts, he is pitching in Minnesota, where the Twins dominate. It is considered a pitcher’s park so Price should be a good start if you combine that with how well the Tigers have been hitting recently.
Catcher: Alex Avila $2,600
Avila is riding a four game hitting streak and Pelfrey has given up over 100 hits in only 91 IP. At this price point, Avila should be a good start.
First Baseman: Ryan Howard $2,500
If DFS was out and popular about five years ago, no way Howard would only be $2,500. But sadly this is 2015 and Howard has struggled compared to his glory day. But he has hit righties well this year and hit a homer in the first game of this series. I think Howard does well tonight.
Second Baseman: Robinson Cano $3,100
Cano has been hitting much better in July. Garrett Richards could present a challenge but he is batting .294 vs Richards. Don’t be surprised if Cano shines tonight.
Third Baseman: Justin Turner $3,300
Turner hasn’t produced well this month, part of rostering a player is dealing with the ups and downs. But I believe this is the night Turner turns it around and has a big game. Turner is my Ultimate Gut Call.
Shortstop: Jimmy Rollins $2,400
After an 0-4 in the series opener Rollins exploded last night against his former team. I expect Rollins to have another productive game versus the Phillies in the series finale.
Outfielder: Michael Brantley $3,200
Brantley is sporting a .400 batting average this series against the Astros and posts a career .375 average against Astros pitcher Brett Oberholtzer.

Outfielder: Nick Markakis $3,200
We are still waiting on his first home run for this season but he has not disappointed with his excellent hitting. Colorado is the perfect place to show some power.
Outfielder: Kelly Johnson $3,500
Johnson has homered in two of his past three games, a good stat to take into Coors Field. I’m going Johnson here because they have raised the price on Cameron Maybin.
Confidence Level: 4 out of 5
There should be balanced production out of this lineup tonight but Price will be the difference between this being a good and great team. Good luck everyone!
