MLB Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/30

Hey all. Sorry about my lack of an an article yesterday, but hopefully we all had a fun day watching baseball and cheering on our DFS plays! Let’s take a look at Thursday’s all-day slate and see who to play.

Pitchers

Chris Sale, CWS – $10,000

Pretty easy suggestion here, with one of the best lefty pitchers in the game going up against a weak, lefty-heavy lineup in Minnesota. It’s been a little disheartening that aces haven’t been as reliable as we would like (Kershaw, Price), but I think Sale is a very safe bet tomorrow and his price is reasonable. I anticipate close to double digit strikeouts from Sale and hopefully lots of innings and that coveted win.

Tim Cooney, STL – $6,100

Related Articles

In the most intriguing play of the day, potential Wainwright replacement Tim Cooney is going up against the pitiful Phillies in Busch Stadium. Cooney wins the platoon matchup over most of the big names in the Philadelphia lineup, and his peer David Buchanan certainly isn’t going to pitch a shutout against that potent Cardinals lineup. There’s a lot to like here, and if you’re going for an expensive hitter stack Cooney might be the pitcher to own for you.

Hitters

Russell Martin, C, TOR – $3,200

Martin usually bats towards the top of the Blue Jays lineup, and Thursday he has a great matchup against pedestrian lefty T.J. House of the Indians. The Toronto backstop is listed as the second most expensive catcher, but for good reason. Adding him with an ace won’t kill your salary, so give Russell Martin a look in most of your lineups.

Jacob Marisnick, OF, HOU – $3,000

Marisnick is batting a robust .389 so far this season, and he is going to continue to mash the ball on Thursday going up against lefty James Paxton. Hopefully, he moves up in the lineup a couple of places, but the awesome speed and power threat make Marisnick a great play against the Mariners.
