MLB Fanduel Lineup Advice 5/11

Our new cashing streak is now at two days straight, thanks to a solid outing from King Felix and a Granderson homer. I’m going to start promoting a new hashtag on my lineup posts on Twitter, #GF2MoneyTeam, so we can let people know about our success and grow our following! I invite you guys to do the same when we cash and you’re tweeting about it. Thanks!

Pitchers

Zack Greinke, LAD – $10,300

The Dodgers righty isn’t the most attractive pitching option of the night strictly because of other aces having great matchups (deGrom vs. the Cubs, Cole vs. the Phillies), but I’m still rolling him out there without hesitation. Greinke has been nothing short of elite so far in 2015, as opponents are only hitting .174 against him. Righties are hitting lower than that mark (.167), and the Marlins lineup is definitely righty-heavy with their only left-handed bats being Dee Gordon and Christian Yelich. The win potential with Greinke is great (pedestrian righty Tom Koehler is on the mound for the Marlins), and he’s almost always a lock for 7+ strikeouts. Start the NL Cy Young frontrunner on Monday night with confidence.

Gerrit Cole, PIT – $9,000

If you’re not in a Greinke mood on Monday, a cheaper (and more attractive) option is the Pirates’ ace Gerrit Cole going up against the struggling Phillies. Cole has actually been a better pitcher on the road (1.93 ERA on the road vs. a 2.65 ERA at home), and he gets to pitch in the confines of spacious Citizens Bank Park on Monday. All these factors and a lousy Philadelphia lineup pose a “perfect storm” type of situation for Cole, and he should be a lock in your GPP lineups and is also one of the best options for cash games.

Other options: Jacob deGrom (NYM), Alex Colome (TB), Ubaldo Jimenez (BAL)

Hitters

Yasmani Grandal, C, LAD – $3,000

I was lucky enough to have Grandal in my lineup when he exploded for 23 points against the Brewers a couple of days ago, and I’m not going to miss out on another potential breakout on Monday. As aforementioned, Grandal is going up against the unimpressive righty Koehler for Miami which puts sexy visions in my head. His price was inflated a little for his weekend trip to Coors Field, but Grandal is at a $3,000 price tag on Monday and is more than affordable to go alongside your ace. The Dodgers backstop seems as about as lock as you can get for Monday’s slate.

Adrian Beltre, 3B, TEX – $2,700

It caught me a little off guard when I saw that Beltre was this cheap, but to be fair he has been struggling to start the season. However, I think the veteran third baseman can start to put his early season struggles behind him with a great performance against lefty Danny Duffy and the Kansas City Royals on Monday. He is batting 40 points higher versus left-handed pitching, and it also helps that the Rangers lineup as a whole is starting to heat up as of late. With the insane power upside and a tantalizing platoon matchup (along with the low price), Beltre is another slam dunk pick for most lineups.
