MLB Fanduel Lineup Advice 5/2

A great day from Lester and Joc (the Ripper) Pederson, along with solid days out of the rest of my hitters made it an easy cash day. That makes three straight days of cashing, let’s up that streak to four days on Saturday!

Pitchers

Jake Arrieta, CHC – $9,800

Sure you can have one of the best pitchers in the game in David Price for only $1,100 more, but the Cubs righty has a supreme matchup on Saturday against the Brewers. Jon Lester was struggling through April, but that weak Milwaukee lineup was a nice antidote to his early season woes yesterday. Carlos Gomez is expected to return to the lineup, but that doesn’t bother me one bit regarding Arrieta’s start. The Chicago hurler should be in line for a ton of strikeouts, a good amount of innings, and hopefully a win on Saturday afternoon so start him with confidence.

Chris Archer, TB – $8,900

No-name Alex Colome shut out the Orioles on Friday, so what’s making us think early AL Cy Young frontrunner Chris Archer can’t do the same on Saturday? Archer is electric with a sizzling fastball and an awesome repertoire of complementary pitches, and it seems like he’s finally putting it all together this season. Ballpark advantage (Camden Yards)? Check. Lots of K’s? Check. Win potential (Miguel Gonzalez on the mound for BAL)? Check. Get Archer while he’s under $9K, because he certainly won’t be after this start.

Hitters

Jason Kipnis, 2B, CLE – $2,900

I don’t have much to say here, other than the classic case of a good matchup at a cheap price. Kipnis usually bats at the top of the Indians order, and he has a solid matchup against the Blue Jays’ Aaron Sanchez. The speed and power potential is intriguing, and you’re not going to find a better option for cheaper at second base than Kipnis.

Todd Frazier, 3B, CIN – $3,900

I like the Reds stack as a whole on Saturday against veteran lefty Eric Stults, and Frazier should be right in the middle of the action. As with Kipnis, the Reds third baseman has some nice speed potential along with his obvious power which makes him attractive in DFS for Saturday. He is on the upper end of the price spectrum, but if you can punt another position in order to have the Cincinnati slugger in your lineup, do it.
