MLB Fanduel Lineup Advice 5/5

Star Wars Day was kind to us, as we made it to six straight days of cashing thanks to an elite outing from King Felix and great days at the plate from Dee Gordon and Joc the Ripper! Now onto Tuesday’s slate to try and make it to seven straight days of cashing.

Pitchers

Zack Greinke, LAD – $10,100

Greinke has outplayed his Cy Young winning counterpart so far this year, with a sparkling ERA and WHIP of 1.93 and 0.92 respectively to go along with 27 strikeouts. Milwaukee is one of the poorest hitting teams in the National League, with only 18 HR and a collective .227 batting average. Greinke has some success versus a few prominent Brewers hitters in his career, and even though they are getting healthier the Brewers still have a few key injuries holding back their lineup’s potential. All of this bodes well for an elite Greinke start, and expect 7+ K’s and hopefully a win to take the righty to 5-0 on the season.

Bartolo Colon, NYM – $8,100

The 17-year veteran righty may be getting up there in years, but he is still a very attractive play on Tuesday evening against the visiting Baltimore Orioles. First and foremost, the Orioles lose their DH which will make their lineup that much less potent. Baltimore is prone to striking out more than the average team, and the 41 year old Colon can still get batters to swing and miss at an impressive clip. The Mets offense is going up against unimpressive righty Bud Norris, and I fully expect Duda, Granderson, and company to have a great offensive night and aid Colon in getting his fifth win of the season. The Mets hurler has found the fountain of youth so far this spring, and I think his solid start will continue on Tuesday so give him a long look for your lineups.

Other options: Michael Pineda (NYY), Shelby Miller (ATL), Scott Feldman (HOU)

Hitters

Brian McCann, C, NYY – $3,200

Marco Estrada is making his first start of the season tomorrow, and Brian McCann is the first name that comes to mind when thinking of great matchups here. Even though Estrada has been traditionally tougher against lefties in his career, McCann is 5-for-11 career against the former Brewer and the game is being played in Toronto’s hitter-friendly Rogers Centre. Look for the upstart Yankees to have an offensive outburst on Tuesday as Marco Estrada’s weaknesses will be exposed, and McCann is sure to be in the middle of that action after a day off on Monday.

Brandon Phillips, 2B, CIN – $2,800

If you’re looking for a cheap yet attractive bat to go along with your Greinke or Strasburg, look no further than Brandon Phillips of the Reds going up against lefty Jeff Locke on Tuesday night. Phillips is enjoying a good amount of success at the plate thus far, batting .289 with 1 HR and 13 RBI. This game could be a slugfest with rookie Michael Lorenzen on the mound for Cincinnati, so you’re going to want to own a few hitters from this game. BP will probably bat cleanup behind some attractive names that like to get on base (Votto, Frazier), so there will be ample opportunity for a great fantasy line.
