NBA DFS FanDuel Advice 5/6/16

What’s up, GF2 fans! I’m back at it again with my weekly NBA DFS FanDuel advice! Friday night’s slate will consist of two Game 3’s that are bound to be exciting. For this slate, I’m going to lean heavily on the Thunder versus Spurs game and have a dash of Cavaliers players also. In this article, I’m going to be giving you guys a preview of what my FanDuel lineup will look like for this slate, so let’s get started.

Here’s my NBA DFS FanDuel advice for 5/6/16:

Point Guards

Kyrie Irving, @ Hawks ($7,900)

As much as I like Russell Westbrook from a DFS standpoint, I’m going to fade him for this slate. Instead, I’ll be rolling with Irving, who has been a solid point guard option throughout these 2016 playoffs. So far during this series against Atlanta, Irving has averaged a cool 34.8 FanDuel points per contest. In five of his last six games, he has played in 34+ minutes for Cleveland also, which gives me plenty of confidence in him for Friday’s slate.

Tony Parker, @ Thunder ($4,700)

With these small playoff slates, it’s critical to pick the right value guys but it can be tough to decide. I’m going to roll with the crafty old veteran in Parker who will try and help his squad grab a 2-1 series lead against Oklahoma City. So far during this series, he has averaged 27 minutes per contest, which is plenty of time for Parker to give us some solid fantasy stats. Parker hasn’t been scoring much but has been dishing the ball to all of his teammates, tossing 6+ assists in both games against the Thunder.

Shooting Guards

J.R. Smith, @ Hawks ($5,000)

Throughout his career, Smith has been an insanely streaky shooter but during these playoffs he’s been outstanding! So far during the playoffs, he has averaged 14.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steals in 35 minutes per night for the Cavaliers. During this current playoff run, Smith has also averaged a massive 4.7 three-pointers made, which is crucial for our DFS lineups.

Manu Ginobili, @ Thunder ($3,700)

I’m actually a bit more confident in streaming Ginobili over Parker for this slate. He doesn’t receive near as many minutes that I’d like from him but when he’s on the court he scoring us fantasy points. Last game against Oklahoma City, Ginobili played 22 minutes, scoring a cool 20.1 FanDuel points for our lineups. He always has big play potential, so let’s hope he can get hot for Friday night.

Small Forwards

Kevin Durant, vs. Spurs ($10,000)

I hate Durant’s matchup against Leonard but couldn’t afford LeBron James, so I’m rolling with him. So far during these 2016 playoffs, he has averaged a consistent 36.9 FanDuel points per outing for Oklahoma City and should once again be a viable fantasy option for our lineups. During this series, Durant has played 33+ minutes per night and should see a full run at things for this crucial Game 3.

Kawhi Leonard, @ Thunder ($9,100)

I’m going all in at the small forward position for this slate because that’s where all the heavy hitters lie. So far during this series, Leonard has averaged a solid 35.2 FanDuel points per game for San Antonio and should once again be an ultra-valuable asset for our lineups. In four of his last six games, he has also nabbed 2+ steals per contest for the Spurs, which makes me want to play him even more!

Power Forwards

LaMarcus Aldridge, @ Thunder ($8,900)

Aldridge is by far my top overall play for this slate! He’s been playing out of his mind so far during these 2016 playoffs and will be heavily relied on by his teammates for this big game. Over his last two games against the Thunder, Aldridge has averaged a monstrous 53.9 FanDuel points per outing for the Spurs and looks absolutely unstoppable. During those two games, he scored 38 and 41 points respectively and should see similar stats come Friday night.

Serge Ibaka, vs. Spurs ($5,600)

I’ll be the first person to say that I can’t stand Ibaka but he’s still a viable fantasy option regardless. So far during the playoffs, he has played in 28+ minutes in every game, so he’s always seeing plenty of time on the court. During this series, Ibaka has scored in double digits both games, making him a solid fantasy option going forward.

Centers

Steven Adams, vs. Spurs ($4,900)

I’ve been very impressed with this guy so far during these playoffs! Last time out against San Antonio, Adams played 37 minutes, scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds, which led to a cool 34.4 FanDuel points for his owners. Over his last four games, he has played in 25+ minutes for the Thunder, making him my favorite value option for this slate.
