NBA DFS FanDuel Advice for 1/19/17
What’s up, GF2 fans! I’m back with my free NBA DFS FanDuel advice for the 1/19/16 slate of games. Thursday’s main slate will consist of a decent five-game schedule. I still see plenty of solid plays to choose from, especially on the value side. In this article, I’m going to give you guys a couple of nice plays to roll with for each position, so let’s get started!
Point Guard
Top Play: Kyrie Irving, vs. PHO ($8,400)
I like this matchup a lot for the Kyrie, especially if Kevin Love sits out for Cleveland. So far this year, the Suns have allowed an average of 45.1 FD points per game to opposing point guards. This season, Irving is averaging 23.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 34.5 minutes per game for the Cavaliers. This year, he’s managed to average a super solid 39.0 FPPG for his loyal owners.
Value Pick: Raymond Felton, vs. MIN ($5,500)
With Chris Paul scheduled to be out for the next few months, guys like Felton are going to have to step up for Los Angeles. In his last game, Raymond went off for 15 points, three rebounds and six assists in 27 minutes for the Clippers. So far this year, he’s managed to average just 16.1 FPPG for his owners but should be able to exceed that easily for this slate. This season, the Wolves have given up an average of 44.0 FD points per game to opposing point guards.
Shooting Guard
Top Play: Devin Booker, @ CLE ($6,400)
This game does have the potential to be a fast-paced affair that will really help Booker’s value. So far this season, he’s averaging 20.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 34.1 minutes per game for the Suns. This year, Booker has managed to average a cool 30.3 FPPG for his loyal DFS owners. This season, the Cavaliers have allowed an average of 37.1 FD points per contest to opposing shooting guards.
Value Pick: J.J. Redick, vs. MIN ($5,200)
This isn’t a killer matchup for Redick but his usage alone will be enough to warrant a spot in your lineups for Thursday. With both Blake Griffin and Chris Paul out, he’ll be a big part of the Clippers offense. So far this season, Redick has managed to average a decent 22.4 FPPG for his loyal owners. This year, the Wolves have given up an average of 32.9 FD points per outing to opposing shooting guards.
Small Forward
Top Play: Kawhi Leonard, vs. DEN ($9,400)
On a small slate like this one, a guy such as Leonard could really come in handy for your lineups! So far this year, he’s averaging 24.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 33.1 minutes per game for the Spurs. This season, Leonard has managed to average a massive 42.1 FPPG for his loyal owners. Over their last five games, the Nuggets have allowed an average of 39.4 FD points per contest to opposing small forwards.
Value Pick: Otto Porter, @ NYK ($6,000)

I don’t see a whole lot on the value side of things for this slate for small forward, so I’ll more than likely be paying up. So far this season, the Knicks have given up an average of 36.1 FD points per game to opposing small forwards. This year, Porter has managed to average a smooth 29.6 FPPG for his owners. This season, Otto has averaged 14.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 33.5 minutes per game for the Wizards.
Power Forward
Top Play: LaMarcus Aldridge, vs. DEN ($7,800)
With both Kevin Love and Kristaps Porzingis questionable for this slate, Aldridge could very well be the best option. So far this year, the Nuggets have given up an average of 41.0 FD points per game to opposing power forwards. This season, Aldridge has averaged 17.8 points and 7.0 rebounds in 32.2 minutes per game for the Spurs. Also, Nikola Jokic could miss this game, which gives LaMarcus an even better chance at a nice night.
Value Pick: Dirk Nowitzki, @ MIA ($5,700)
I don’t love Dirk for this slate but his price tag is cheap enough for me to give him a look. So far this year, he’s managed to average a solid 25.3 FPPG for his loyal owners. This season, Nowitzki is averaging 13.3 points and 5.8 rebounds in 24.6 minutes per game for the Mavericks. Over their last five games, the Heat have allowed an average of 52.2 FD points per outing to opposing power forwards.
Center
Top Play: Karl-Anthony Towns, @ LAC ($10,100)
With so many injuries in Los Angeles, the Wolves should be able to keep this game close, which bodes well for Towns. So far this season, he’s averaging 22.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 35.5 minutes per game for Minnesota. This year, Towns has managed to average an explosive 45.8 FPPG for his loyal owners. This season, the Clippers have given up an average of 43.2 FD points per game to opposing centers.
Value Pick: Marcin Gortat, @ NYK ($5,800)
Gortat is way too talented to have a price tag under 6k in my opinion, especially in this matchup. So far this year, the Knicks have allowed an average of 49.6 FD points per contest to opposing centers. This season, Gortat has managed to average a smooth 31.4 FPPG for his loyal DFS owners. This year, he’s averaging 11.4 points and 11.7 rebounds in 35.2 minutes per game for Washington.
Well, those are my NBA DFS value plays for the 1/19/16 slate of games. Hopefully, with my advice, you guys will prosper on Thursday night. Thanks for reading and good luck, everyone!
