New World Record at Pikes Peak Hill Climb
On Sunday, June 26th more than 100 competitors raced for the clouds in the 100th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. One driver, CEO & Founder of GO PUCK, Blake Fuller, had a very specific goal of breaking the previous electric vehicle record.
Not only did he accomplish that goal, but he “crushed” it. The GO PUCK Tesla Model S beat the record by a full minute. The previous production EV record was 13 minutes. He ran the race in 11:48.
Due to race regulations, the GO PUCK Tesla was almost entirely stock, meaning it’s the same car you or I would buy from the dealer. They did strip the interior and replace it with a cage.
The team encountered many obstacles. One of them being how to cool the battery. They dragged 4,000 lbs of ice to give it an ice bath. (Just like the football players do after a big game!)
To achieve the record the car had been lightened by almost 800 pounds prior to safety equipment being installed and boasts over 750 HP.

Blake Fuller is no stranger to victory in top-level racing competition. Fuller earned Rookie of the Year honors in 1999 at the PPIHC and won the prestigious Open Class in 2002 along with 100’s of podiums finishes in all levels of professional motorsports since.
Fuller’s status as a revolutionary in the battery industry makes him an indispensable part of motorsports behind the scenes. In 2001, Fuller developed a new battery for his 2002 race winning hill climb vehicle that was 80% lighter than the car’s original battery. In the decade since, “Batteries by Blake” have powered championship winning vehicles, including NASCAR, F1 and every IndyCar!
Around 2012, he transferred his experience of designing durable, lightweight motorsports power to a consumer electronics application. GO PUCK was born. Focused on being the world’s most versatile battery, GO PUCK’s Wearable Power can charge all USB devices from phones, tablets to GoPros.
Congrats to Team GO PUCK and their incredible race to the clouds!
