NFL DFS DraftKings Cash Game Lineup – Week 17 (Main Slate – 16 Games 1/1/17)

Each week, I’ll create a cash game lineup for DraftKings. Since this is usually posted by Wednesday, the cash game lineups may change slightly by Sunday.

In cash games, you should always look for each player to reach at least 3x value.

DraftKings Points/(Player Salary/1000) = Value

Example: If Carson Wentz has a $5,000 salary and scored 15 DraftKings (DK) points, Wentz would reach 3x value based on the formula below.

15 DK Points/($5,000/1,000) = 3x Value

I will also present a 3x stat line. The 3x stat line is not a projection, but a hypothetical stat line that would allow the player to reach three times his value. When creating your own cash game lineup, choose players who you believe can reach the 3x stat line. If you look at a player and don’t think he can reach the 3x stat line, consider choosing a different option in your own lineup.

Week 16 Lineup Review

Our week 16 lineup did well. On Sunday morning, I tweeted out the following pivots.

While the pivots didn’t end up working, I believe they were the correct process plays. If you missed the pivots, your lineup did extremely well. If you made the pivots, you probably still cashed. The lineup scored 138.76 DK points and cashed in all the 50/50s I entered. See last week’s lineup below.

NFL DFS DraftKings Cash Game Lineup – Week 17

QB – Aaron Rodgers at (DET) – $7,700

The Packers are in must-win mode, and Aaron Rodgers has multiple touchdown passes in nine of his last ten games. The Packers have a team total of 26.5 points, and the Lions rank 32nd (all defensive rankings are from Football Outsiders DVOA) against the pass this season.

3x stat line: 250 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, 11 rushing yards = 23.1 DK Points

RB – Fitzgerald Toussaint vs. (CLE) – $4,300

If Toussaint gets the start, he’s in a great spot against the Browns run defense which ranks 31st in the league. DeAngelo Williams has played just one snap over the past seven weeks, so I’m not overly concerned he takes the work. If Williams does draw the start, an easy pivot to Darren Sproles ($4,000) would be in order.

3x stat line: 14 carries, 62 rushing yards, 3 receptions, 37 receiving yards = 12.9 DK Points

RB – Jacquizz Rodgers vs. (CAR) – $4,900

The last time the Buccaneers played the Panthers, Doug Martin and Charles Sims were both out and Rodgers went for 20.9 DK points on 35 touches. This week, they are both out again, and Rodgers will assume the lead back role. Even though the Panthers run defense is solid, the volume and the fact that the Buccaneers will go all-out to win this game leads me to believe Rodgers will pay off his salary.

3x stat line: 18 carries, 90 rushing yards, 3 catches, 27 receiving yards = 14.7 DK Points

WR – Jordy Nelson at (DET) – $8,100

Nelson exploded last week when the Vikings refused to shadow him with Xavier Rhodes in the first half. I’m going to copy and paste what I wrote about his last week as it applies this week as well. “Nelson has double-digit DK points in every game this season except one. He has at least 91 receiving yards and/or a touchdown in every game since week 8, even while facing multiple difficult matchups.” I’ll add that Nelson ranks second in DK points per game, only behind Antonio Brown who won’t play this week.

3x stat line: 5 catches, 103 receiving yards, 1 receiving touchdown = 24.3 DK Points

WR – Eli Rogers vs. (CLE) – $4,000

With Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell out this week, Eli Rogers projects to be Steelers’ top receiver this week. Even with the lack of offensive weapons, the Steelers have a team total of 24.5 points. With Rogers and my next receiver play, I’m going to lock up the majority of the passing attack in hopes of capturing the touchdowns for a minimal price.

3x stat line: 6 catches, 60 receiving yards = 12.0 DK Points

WR – Cobi Hamilton vs. (CLE) – $3,000

Hamilton should start this week in place of Antonio Brown. He’s the other part of the Steelers’ passing attack I will lock up for the minimum price. The Browns are 30th against the pass, so getting the top two receivers for just $7,000 total should be able to reach value. I’m also hoping he has a connection with Landry Jones as they have both worked with the Steelers’ second team for most of the season.

3x stat line: 4 catches, 50 receiving yards = 9.0 DK Points

TE – Travis Kelce vs. (SD) – $5,000

Kelce has at least 100 receiving yards in five of his past six games. The Chargers rank 16th against the tight end this season, but have given up almost 75 receiving yards per game to tight ends over their past five contests.

3x stat line: 6 catches, 90 receiving yards = 15.0 DK Points

FLEX – David Johnson at (LA) – $9,800

Johnson needs 159 receiving yards to reach 1,000 receiving yards on the season. With nothing left to play for, I’m expecting the Cardinals to try to go for it. Bruce Arians has already said he’s willing to help his players chase contract incentives, so I’m assuming he’ll assist Johnson in chasing his 1,000-1,000 season as well. If you don’t like the narrative, just look up David Johnson’s per-game stats for the season and start him anyway.

3x stat line: 11 carries, 34 rushing yards, 7 catches, 160 receiving yards = 29.4 DK Points

D/ST – Arizona Cardinals D/ST at (LA) – $3,000

The Cardinals D/ST has at least 6 DK points in all but three games this season. The Cardinals rank 7th against the run and 7th against the pass this year. The Rams have a team total of just 17.25 points and should be playing from behind throughout the game.

3x stat line: 14-20 points against, 2 sacks, 3 total turnovers = 9.0 DK Points
