NFL DFS DraftKings Cash Game Lineup – Week 3 (Main Slate – 14 Games 9/25/16)

Each week, I’ll create a cash game lineup for DraftKings. Since this is usually posted by Wednesday, the cash game lineups may change slightly by Sunday.

In cash games, you should always look for each player to reach at least 3x value.

DraftKings Points/(Player Salary/1000) = Value

Example: If Carson Wentz has a $5,000 salary and scored 15 DraftKings (DK) points, Wentz would reach 3x value based on the formula below.

15 DK Points/($5,000/1,000) = 3x Value

I will also present a 3x stat line. The 3x stat line is not a projection, but a hypothetical stat line that would allow the player to reach three times his value. When creating your own cash game lineup, choose players who you believe can reach the 3x stat line. If you look at a player and don’t think he can reach the 3x stat line, consider choosing a different option in your own lineup.

Week 2 Lineup Review

Our Week 2 lineup did not do well. The lineup scored 106.04 DK points and did not cash in any of the 50/50s I entered. The four wide receivers in the lineup combined for only 35.6 DK points (1.4x). Week 3 is a new week!

See last week’s lineup below. draftkings-week-2-lineup

NFL DFS DraftKings Cash Game Lineup – Week 3

QBPhilip Rivers at (IND) – $6,700

The Indianapolis Colts defense is bad. They are 31st in pass defense DVOA (all DVOA stats are from Football Outsiders). Trevor Siemian threw for 266 yards against the Colts last week, and Matthew Stafford put up 29.1 DK points against them the week before. I like Rivers to exceed the 300 yard passing bonus and add a pair of touchdowns.

3x stat line: 295 passing yards, 2 pass TDs, 3 rushing yards = 20.7 DK Points

Also consider Ryan Tannehill vs. (CLE) – $6,200

RBDeAngelo Williams at (PHI) – $7,500

Williams is averaging 34 touches per game and over 30 DK points per game this year. When a talented running back receives this much volume and plays on a good offense, he becomes a staple in my cash game lineups.

3x stat line: 19 carries, 86 rushing yards, 4 catches, 39 receiving yards, 1 total TD = 22.5 DK Points

Also consider David Johnson at (BUF) – $7,700

RBMelvin Gordon at (IND) – $5,800

If you thought the Colts were bad against the pass, they’re worse against the run (32nd in rush defense DVOA). With Danny Woodhead out for the season, Melvin Gordon should get the lion’s share of backfield touches. Gordon should also see a few more targets in the passing game with Woodhead out.

3x stat line: 16 carries, 84 rushing yards, 2 catches, 10 yards, 1 total TD = 17.4 DK Points

WRJarvis Landry vs. (CLE) – $6,600

We all know Jarvis Landry is a target monster (23 targets through two weeks). To help his cause, he’s playing the Cleveland Browns defense ranked 22nd against the pass. With Arian Foster out, Jay Ajayi and Kenyan Drake will take over the backfield. With the absence of a proven running back, I expect the Dolphins to run less and target Landry more.

3x stat line: 6 catches, 108 receiving yards = 19.8 DK Points

WRMarvin Jones at (GB) – $6,200

Marvin Jones is quietly tied for 8th in targets through the first two weeks. Jones went over 100 yards on 11 targets against the Titans last week. The Lions are eight point road underdogs and are without Ameer Abdullah leading to a likely increase in pass attempts. If Sam Shields remains out for week 3, Marvin Jones is my favorite play of the week.

3x stat line: 5 catches, 106 receiving yards = 18.6 DK Points

WRTravis Benjamin at (IND) – $5,200

Travis Benjamin exploded last week scoring 32.4 DK points on only six targets. I’m not excited about the six targets, but I’m excited about the matchup against the Colts. Without Keenan Allen and Danny Woodhead in the lineup, the targets should start to pile up for Benjamin.

3x stat line: 6 catches, 96 receiving yards = 15.6 DK Points

Also consider Stefon Diggs at (CAR) – $5,100

TEDennis Pitta at (JAX) – $3,400

Dennis Pitta had 9 catches on 12 targets for 102 yards last week against the Browns. The Jaguars are mediocre against opposing TEs (19th), but if Pitta is going to see 6-8 targets, I’ll roster him for $3,400.

3x stat line: 5 catches, 52 receiving yards = 10.2 DK Points

FLEXTheo Riddick at (GB) – $4,900

Riddick follows the same logic as Marvin Jones. The Lions should trail and are without their starting running back. Riddick should see a few more carries, but his value should come from playing from behind against the Packers. He saw five targets in his first two games this year, and I could see him approaching eight targets in week 3.

3x stat line: 12 carries, 36 rushing yards, 5 catches, 61 receiving yards = 14.7 DK Points

Also consider Charles Sims vs (LA) – $4,900

D/ST – Miami Dolphins vs. (CLE) – $3,000

The Miami Dolphins get a home game against the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are without Robert Griffin III, Josh McCown, and now Corey Coleman who broke his hand in practice. The Browns have a team total of only 16 points, and the Dolphins are favored by 10. Rookie quarterback Cody Kessler will make his first NFL start and should struggle against the Dolphins defense.

3x stat line: 14-20 points against, 4 sacks, 2 turnovers = 9 DK Points
