NFL DFS DraftKings Cash Game Lineup – Week 4 (Main Slate – 12 Games 10/2/16)

Each week, I’ll create a cash game lineup for DraftKings. Since this is usually posted by Wednesday, the cash game lineups may change slightly by Sunday.

In cash games, you should always look for each player to reach at least 3x value.

DraftKings Points/(Player Salary/1000) = Value

Example: If Carson Wentz has a $5,000 salary and scored 15 DraftKings (DK) points, Wentz would reach 3x value based on the formula below.

15 DK Points/($5,000/1,000) = 3x Value

I will also present a 3x stat line. The 3x stat line is not a projection, but a hypothetical stat line that would allow the player to reach three times his value. When creating your own cash game lineup, choose players who you believe can reach the 3x stat line. If you look at a player and don’t think he can reach the 3x stat line, consider choosing a different option in your own lineup.

Week 3 Lineup Review

Our week 3 DraftKings lineup did well. The lineup scored 152.9 DK points and cashed in all the 50/50s I entered. If you followed me on Twitter, I also tweeted two changes to the lineup on Sunday morning. pivots If you made those adjustments, the lineup would have scored 178.76 DK points.

See last week’s lineup below. week-3-lineup

NFL DFS DraftKings Cash Game Lineup – Week 4

QB – Cam Newton at (ATL) – $7,800

Cam’s struggles against one of the top defenses in the league last week will put some people off of him, but it shouldn’t. Cam is still an elite talent and gets to face the worst defense in the league in week 4. The Falcons are ranked 29th against the run, 31st against the pass and 32nd overall in defensive DVOA (All defensive ranks are from Football Outsiders DVOA).

3x stat line: 250 passing yards, 1 pass TD, 34 rushing yards, 1 rush TD = 23.4 DK Points

Also consider Philip Rivers vs. (NO) – $6,900

RB – Melvin Gordon vs. (NO) – $6,300

Melvin Gordon had 20 touches last week with Danny Woodhead out of the lineup. Dexter McCluster only received two touches. Gordon is the only running back getting any work for the Chargers and has a dream matchup. The Saints are 31st in rush defense DVOA and are traveling to the west coast. In week 3, the Saints gave up 64.6 DK points to opposing running backs. If Gordon can score just a third of those points, he will pay off his salary and then some.

3x stat line: 20 carries, 109 rushing yards, 3 catches, 20 receiving yards = 18.9 DK Points

RB – Carlos Hyde vs. (DAL) – $4,200

Carlos Hyde has averaged almost 20 DK points per game so far this season. At his current price, that is almost a 5x value when we are shooting for 3x in cash games. Additionally, Hyde has done this against the 14, 5, and 6 ranked rush defenses. The Cowboys run defense is ranked 12 in rush defense DVOA, but has yielded 4.8 yards per carry to opposing running backs. $4,200 just seems too cheap for a talent like Hyde.

3x stat line: 19 carries, 85 rushing yards, 2 catches, 21 receiving yards = 12.6 DK Points

Also consider Jordan Howard vs. (DET) – $3,700

WR – Antonio Brown vs. (KC) – $9,700

Any time you can afford to get Antonio Brown into your lineup you should. With value plays available at running back, wide receiver, and tight end, it make it easy to insert the best receiver in football into the lineup.

3x stat line: 8 catches, 121 receiving yards, 1 receiving TD = 29.1 DK Points

WR – Terrelle Pryor at (WAS) – $4,300

This one makes me nervous. Earlier in the week, I wrote up Pryor as a sell high. His volume was crazy last week, recording 5 passing attempts, 4 rushing attempts, and 13 targets. I expect the Browns to try to give him similar volume, but with the possibility of Josh Norman shadowing Pryor, I’m nervous. The public seems so high on Pryor that if we exclude him from our cash game lineup and he goes off, it could put us behind the majority of the field. A pivot to Tyrell Williams may be the right move if we learn that Norman will indeed shadow Pryor.

3x stat line: 25 passing yards, 6 carries, 31 yards, 4 catches, 48 receiving yards = 12.9 DK Points

Also consider Tyrell Williams vs. (NO) – $4,400

WR – Cole Beasley at (SF) – $3,900

Beasley leads the Cowboys in targets through three weeks. While he hasn’t scored, on a full point PPR site like DraftKings, Beasley still has significant value, especially at his price. Dez Bryant has a hairline fracture in his knee, and may miss this game. If he does, Beasley becomes a must-play. Additionally, the 49ers play at a highest pace, meaning there should be more plays in the game, and therefore more volume for Beasley.

3x stat line: 5 catches, 67 receiving yards = 11.7 DK Points

TE – Hunter Henry vs. (NO) – $2,700

Henry filled in for an injured Antonio Gates last week and had 5 catches for 72 yards. If Gates is out again, Henry is a great play at TE. At 6’6″ Henry is a quality red zone target and should see plenty of scoring opportunities against a poor Saints defense.

3x stat line: 4 catches, 41 receiving yards = 8.1 DK Points

Also consider Zach Miller vs. (DET) – $2,700

FLEX – David Johnson vs. (LA) – $7,800

This is another one of those plays that if you can get Johnson into your lineup, you probably should. Johnson has been a viable option each week despite negative game scripts and tough matchups. His involvement in the passing game keeps his floor incredibly high which is exactly what we want in a cash game.

3x stat line: 17 carries, 84 rushing yards, 5 catches, 40 receiving yards, 1 total TD = 23.4 DK Points

Also consider Le’Veon Bell vs. (KC) – $7,500

D/ST – Houston Texans vs. (TEN) – $3,200

Is it a home game? Yes. Does the opposing team have a low team total? Yes. Is my defense favored by at least five? Almost (-4.5). The three checks I try to make each week are here. The Texans are without J.J. Watt, but Marcus Mariota couldn’t even score in a home game against Oakland’s 27th ranked defense last week.

3x stat line: 14-20 points against, 3 sacks, 3 turnovers = 10 DK Points
