NFL DFS Value Plays Week 5 | DraftKings
What’s up, GF2 followers! After a crazy first week of football action, I’m back with some great DFS value options for Week 5! I’ve got a feeling about a ton of cheaper guys that could do well for your lineups on Sunday. Every week I’ll be covering the main slate of games. Let’s get started!
The GameFly DraftKings Value Plays for Week 5
Quarterbacks
Eli Manning (NYG) vs LAC $6,100
Manning has quietly strung together two consecutive stellar fantasy outings with a super cheap price tag. Over the last two weeks, he has scored 27.7 and 27.6 FP against both Tampa Bay and Philadelphia. This week, Manning draws a juicy matchup against a beat up Los Angeles secondary. So far this year, the Chargers rank 20th overall at defending against opposing quarterbacks. I firmly believe that Manning can put up another 20+ fantasy point day for our lineups.
Carson Palmer (ARI) @ PHI $5,900
A lot like Manning, Palmer has improved over the last few weeks for our DFS lineups, scoring a respectable 20.4 and 24.7 DK points. So far this year, he’s managed to average a cool 19.2 FPPG for his owners and should prosper in a matchup against a lackluster Philly secondary. So far in 2017, the Eagles rank 29th overall at defending against opposing quarterbacks.
Running Backs
Melvin Gordon (LAC) @ NYG ($6,000)
I personally feel like Gordon is a super big bargain for this weekend against New York. Yes, they have a fairly decent rush defense, ranking 11th overall this year at defending against opposing running backs. The Giants have allowed 4.6 yards per carry and 142.8 rushing yards per game to running backs in 2017, though. So far this season, Gordon has managed to average a decent 14.4 FPPG for his owners and has scored 3 touchdowns thus far. He’ll be a potential steal for Week 5!
Duke Johnson (CLE) vs. NYJ $4,900
I was on the Duke Johnson value train last week and he cruised to a decent 21.0 DK point day for my lineups! This week, he’ll draw an even better matchup against an awful Jets defense. So far this year, New York ranks 26th overall at defending against opposing running backs and will have a tough time versus Duke. Johnson is the kind of player that we need to target on DraftKings due to his ability to catch out of the backfield. Over the last two weeks, he’s seen 7+ targets from DeShone Kizer.
Wide Receivers
Jarvis Landry (MIA) vs. TEN $5,800
A lot of people thought that Landry just wouldn’t see many targets from Jay Cutler coming into the 2017 season. Well, in three games, he’s been targeted a total of 33 times by his quarterback! In a killer matchup against the Titans, who rank 30th overall at defending against opposing wide receivers, Landry should flourish. This year, he’s managed to average a nice 13.6 FPPG for his loyal owners.

Devin Funchess (CAR) @ DET $5,600
Cam Newton has done nothing but praised his young receiver this week to the media. Funchess will have extra motivation playing against his hometown Lions for Week 5! So far this season, Detroit ranks 18th overall at defending against opposing wide receivers. Funchess is coming off a great game against the Patriots where he caught seven passes for 70 yards and two touchdowns. I’m expecting another nice game this weekend!
Tight Ends
Delanie Walker (TEN) @ MIA $4,700
If Marcus Mariota plays this weekend, Walker is easily my favorite play at tight end! So far this year, he’s caught 18 passes for 219 yards and a score for his squad. Walker has managed to average a consistent 11.5 FPPG for his owners and draws a tasty matchup this weekend against the Dolphins. This season, Miami ranks 24th overall at defending against opposing tight ends.
Martellus Bennett (GB) @ DAL 4,100
Bennett hasn’t been very fantasy relevant thus far this year with his new squad but I’m hoping for a breakout game against Dallas. This game will most likely become a shootout, which bodes well for a guy like Bennett in the red-zone. So far this season, the Cowboys rank 13th overall at defending against opposing tight ends.
Defense
BAL @ OAK $2,900
I’ve got a feeling that Baltimore’s defense will be fairly low owned due to their terrible play over the past few weeks. I firmly believe that the Ravens will put up numbers similar to the first two weeks of the season where they scored 17.0 and 25.0 DK points for our lineups. This weekend, they’ll draw a matchup with an Oakland offense that won’t have Derek Carr behind center.
LAR vs. SEA $2,800
This pick is mostly a gut feeling for me. Yes, the Seahawks always have the potential to put up a big offensive showing but their offensive line is putrid. If Los Angeles can get to Russell Wilson early and often this could be a cheap defense that could be in some winning tournament lineups!
