NFL DFS Value Plays Week 5 | FanDuel

What’s up, GF2 fans! I’m back once again with my NFL DFS FanDuel value plays for Week 5.  In order to have a successful weekend playing DFS, you must be able to find some true value plays to anchor your lineup. Anyone can pick a top guy such as Julio Jones but the real winners do their work in the trenches.

NFL DFS FanDuel Value Plays for Week 5

Quarterbacks

Eli Manning (NYG) @ GB $7,700

By now we can consider Manning a value play because he’s been so inconsistent. He hasn’t been able to top 20 FanDuel points at all thus far in 2016. I’ve got a good feeling about Peyton’s little brother for this weekend. Yes, he’s facing off against a formidable defense in the Packers, who rank 11th versus the pass. Here’s the thing, though the Giants will most likely be playing from behind and Manning will have to air the ball out. Hopefully, Odell Beckham can keep his attitude in check and help Eli to a great performance.

Carson Wentz (PHI) @ DET $7,500

I almost put Brian Hoyer here but I just didn’t want to go too bold. Wentz should be a stellar play this weekend against a very bad Detroit secondary. So far this season, the Lions rank 22nd versus the pass and haven’t been able to stop anyone. This year, Wentz has managed to average a cool 17.6 FanDuel points per game in his first three starts.

Running Backs

Frank Gore (IND) vs. CHI $6,500

Gore didn’t practice on Wednesday for the Colts for some unknown reason. Well, to my knowledge he is fine and should be good to go for Week 5. In three of his first four games, Gore has been super consistent for our lineups, scoring 13+ FanDuel points per outing. He’ll get to face off against Chicago’s 26th rank rush defense, so he should feast on Sunday.

Bilal Powell (NYJ) @ PIT $5,100

This pick will depend on Matt Forte‘s health status for this weekend. Right now, Forte is dealing with both knee and rib injuries, so his status doesn’t look good. If he sits, Powell instantly becomes a nice value running back for this slate. Yes, the Steelers have been tough against the run this season but hear me out. Powell can be a PPR machine, which gives him even more fantasy upside. Over his last two games, he has received 7+ targets and gained 40+ reception yards.

Wide Receivers

Julian Edelman (NE) @ CLE $7,000

Edelman has been a bit lost without his wingman Tom Brady so far this year. He’s only been able to manage to average a moderate 8.1 FanDuel points per game with the backup quarterbacks. Well, with Brady back and Gronkowski still hurt, Edelman is due for a big game. The Patriots will be squaring off against Cleveland, who ranks 17th versus the pass this season, so that’s a plus too!

DailyFantasyNerd FanDuel Value Play of the Day

Eddie Royal (CHI) @ IND $5,700

I love Royal for this slate! Hoyer really seems to feel the same way about him as I do and will probably target him heavily once again this week. Last week versus the Lions, Royal caught all seven of his targets for 111 yards and a score. This week, he’ll get to take on the Colts 25th ranked pass defense. Surprisingly, Royal has been the most consistent receiver that the Bears have to offer, scoring 13+ FD points in three of four games this year. Also, note that Alshon Jeffery is still dealing with lingering injuries and Kevin White was recently put on IR.

Tight Ends

Zach Ertz (PHI) @ DET $5,600

Ertz has finally recovered from his rib injury and is ready to return to action for Philly. Like I said above, the Lions have the 22nd ranked pass defense and the Eagles should be able to move the ball at will. For Week 1, Ertz caught six of seven targets for 58 yards. Those aren’t insane numbers but him and rookie signal caller Wentz do seem to have a solid chemistry overall.

Zach Miller (CHI) @IND $5,400

Miller is supposedly dealing with a rib injury, so watch his status closer to Sunday. If he does indeed play, though, he’ll be in a ton of my lineups for this weekend! After two starts with Brian Hoyer, Miller has prospered within this Chicago offense, scoring three touchdowns. The Colts have the 25th ranked defense against the pass and the Bears will air it out against them this weekend.

Defense

L.A. vs. BUF $4,700

This particular game will be the one that I’m targeting for my defensive streaming options. We’ll start with Rams who are more expensive. They have averaged a cool 10.3 FD points per game this year. You never know what Rex Ryan’s Buffalo squad is going to do on offense but the Rams should be able to contain them.

BUF @ L.A. $4,600

Out of these two defenses, I actually prefer the Bills. So far in 2016, Buffalo has averaged a super solid 13 FD points per game for our lineups and should be a great play this week. The key to beating the Rams is stacking the box so Todd Gurley is contained and I’m sure that’s what they’ll do. I’ve got faith that the Bills can shut down Case Keenum, so play them with confidence.
