The Game Plan For Week 1 (#FantasyFootball)

Fine readers of the Going For 2 fanbase my name is @TheBLeagueSays and I am 100% ruined from vacation; I caught the flu and spent one of the two weeks away in bed – please feel sorry for me! In this week‘s ‘The Game plan of the Week’, I will give to you some plays to make in regards to your Fantasy teams weekly roster construction, DFS selections or Dynasty evaluations.

So before we get started, Thank you, and enjoy!

Slant Route

Who is trending up this week:

I mean the Colts ARE (not were, they still are) set up for a run at the playoffs and Jacoby Brissett is at the helm once again due to Andrew Luck’s sudden retirement just weeks before the 2019 season had started. He faces a tough start on the road against Super Bowl contenders in the L.A. Chargers, but at $4,400 on Draft Kings (priced next to Ryan Tannehill and Cooper Rush mind you), it almost feels like a free play to start in your #DFS lineup. What’s the worst thing that happens? That Brissett puts up Marcus Mariota numbers while being $800 cheaper than his Titans counterpart? I see no problem with that!

Enjoy the cheap play this week!

Flat Route

The hate has tapered off:

On LeSean McCoy!

Remember when he and Andy Reid were a thing in Philadelphia like a decade ago? And remember how no one wanted to draft him while he was in Buffalo this year? And remember how a few days ago, the high flying Kansas City Chiefs who are coached by Andy Reid picked McCoy up after being cut by the Buffalo Bills and everyone mildly went bananas? And remember the Damien Williams truthers losing their minds a little bit?

Fun times indeed had by all.

LeSean McCoy to Kansas is a good thing for McCoy and Kansas and that’s about it. He was falling to the back of the 10th round in A.D.P. anyway, and I can’t imagine much more would have been different had this move happened a few weeks ago. Let’s just enjoy a feel-good reunion story for what it is and leave it at that. Good luck them all.

Comeback Route

Who will recover after a poor performance in the previous season:

He had a historic season, and this category seems rough to put him there but how the season ended for Todd Gurley has left all Dynasty, Keeper and Redraft gamers on tilt for seven months now, because the last time we saw Todd Gurley playing football he was riding a stationary bike instead.

Wait, what?!

Todd Gurley’s health has been a focal point of mainly ill-informed ‘take artists’ and unless you are a registered and qualified Physical Therapist you really shouldn’t have said anything about this, instead of stoking the flames for no reason.

That said, it’s Week 1 and now we can finally get answers from the Rams and Gurley and if their plan for him to mainly rest this offseason will pay dividends. And we will also get answers on how much Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown get utilized too.

Screen Route

The contrarian play of the week:

What’s that old saying: ‘If you love them, let them go. But if they can come back from an Achilles tendon injury then it must be true love…

That sounds right, no?

Demaryius Thomas could go off this week as he was released and re-signed by the New England Patriots. Julian Edelman has a thumb injury (which shouldn’t be too much of a concern but it’s still something to monitor) and Josh Gordon could do/be anything (who knows), while N’Keal Harry is placed on the Injured Reserve. No one is expecting anything from Thomas for the first time in a long time, and at Home against the Steelers (and at $3,700 on Draft Kings) he is good enough and cheap enough at that price for me to love.

Out Route

Who am I completely off this week:

Unless it’s taking the ‘Unders’ (the over/under is set at 44 on mybookie.ag), I’m fading everything to do with the Cincinnati at Seattle matchup this week. Nothing really inspires me in this matchup here. Not Andy Dalton or Will Dissly coming back from injuries. Not Rashaad Penny getting more work as Seattle slow the game down with a grinding ‘let’s run it for 60 minutes’ approach. Not even watching that abysmal Bengals O-Line trying to ‘protect’ Joe Mixon as he dodges, ducks, dips, dives and dodges more would-be tacklers for another season has me excited. Nothing.

It’s an easy pass for me here.

The 9 Route

A straight forward confidence play of the week:

Dak Prescott is at home against the New York Giants and could be without Ezekiel Elliott, which leaves them to start with pass-catching Running Back and Rookie Tony Pollard in Week 1 (and if something changes with Elliott’s contract then please take that into account). Prescott has been gifted an unretired Jason Witten who normally haunts the Giants and veteran Randall Cobb from Green Bay. And Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup look to torture the New York ‘secondary’ too. I can imagine that Prescott picks them apart through the air, and adds a sneaky upside play with his rushing ability too. He’s a Top 5 Quarterback for me in Week 1 – start him in all aspects of Fantasy and DFS with the utmost confidence.

And finally…

Hail Mary Play Of The Week –

Ironically, I have probably given you enough plays for the week to been seen as ‘hail mary’s’ but while I am at it, why not one more!

The Over/Under at mybookie.ag is set at 49.5 points in the San Francisco at Tampa matchup is exciting – which I’m all about. And Tampa still appears to not have a running game as they’ve somewhat squandered a chance to recruit anyone this year. So Tampa has no run game, and Jameis Winston for the first time in a long time has had a trouble-free offseason/preseason with a chance to step up under Bruce Arians, who whilst at monkeyknifefight.com, Winston has a Passing Yards Over/Under set at 275.5 which I think he will also smash in the process.

So, Jameis Winston to throw for over 275.5 yards, to have 3+ Touchdowns, and for the ‘Overs’ set at 49.5 points to hit in Week 1 vs the San Francisco 49ers? Get on board!

And there you have it!
