The Game Plan For Week 3 (#FantasyFootball)

Fine readers of the Going For 2 fanbase my name is @TheBLeagueSays and I 100% did blow all my FAAB money on Mason Rudolph and I am fine with it. Each week I will give to you some plays to make in regards to your Fantasy teams weekly roster construction, DFS selections or Dynasty evaluations.

What a mixed bag of goodies Week 2 was! I did ok with the Game Plan For The Week, this is how I fared:

I mentioned how John Ross performs when A.J. Green isn’t available and he had himself another day out with a line of 12-7-158-2. Gardner Minshew was respectable in a tough outing in Houston (and nearly lead the team to a last-play win). And DeSean Jackson did what ‘D-Jax’ does and that’s occasionally get injured; that comes with his cost as you already know. And finally, Cameron Brate played his usual ‘Whack-A-Mole’ role this week. You know, he essentially he pops, up eats up work from others and then disappears for another week. Yes, this was a week where he disappeared.

So, how does Week 2 look for my Game Plan For The Week?

Slant Route

Who is trending up this week:

Demarcus Robinson (and my Best Ball teams).

Not that you care about my Best Ball teams, however, prior to the news of a Tyreek Hill suspension a lot was made about the Chiefs Receiver group – in my humble opinion, Pat Mahomes is a monster and can make anyone relevant – but again, that’s just me. But a sleeper of mine this preseason because of Hill was the aforementioned Robinson, who prior to Mecole Hardman being drafted, Robinson was the heir to being the WR3 for the high powered Chiefs. In Week 2, it was Demarcus Robinson who crushed with a 6-6-172-2 performance on the road to Division rival Oakland. This week he is priced at $5200 on Draft Kings at home to Baltimore, and until Hill returns, he will remain at a good value each week to put up numbers in that system.

Flat Route

The bubble has burst on:

Mitchell Trubisky, who is the old Apple product, and not the juggernaut that it is today.

Tell me something, how is it that prior to the season beginning that Mitchell Trubisky was an MVP favorite? Tell me, are you one of these suckers that lost their money already? In 12-team leagues (in my opinion) he would be droppable already – HOWEVER – with the way that Quarterbacks have been falling to injuries of late, he is a hold right now. But I tell you what, it’s a shaky hold at that (I’m talking ‘wearing no gloves in the snow after punching 15 beers and it’s 4 am and you are out in the middle of nowhere without a ride home’ shaky), as right now (and as reckless as this may seem) I would prefer the erratic Ryan Fitzpatrick because at least he throws the pigskin… it doesn’t always go where it should be dammit at least he chucks the rock every once in a while…

Comeback Route

Who will recover after a poor performance in the previous week:

A draw in your debut in overtime, followed by a gutsy performance on the road at Baltimore that ended in a loss, Kyler Murray and his Arizona Cardinals are at home to a wounded Carolina Panthers team who have two losses to start the year.

As Cam Newton looks like missing this week due to injury, the Cardinals have flashed glimpses of what they can be but have often started games too slow. I like them at home this week, and it shows with the bookies (with news of Newton potentially missing time on Wednesday) the Cardinals have already started to come in (even slightly on Fan Duel Sports Book) from +3 to +2.5 and I can imagine once the news of Newton not playing drops that this could end up a pick’em. But either way, I like the Cardinals to get their first win of the year and to cover the spread, even at +3 as it were.

Screen Route

The contrarian play:

Atlanta is currently at +2.5 (on mybookie.ag) and I gotta be honest, on the road at Indianapolis isn’t an easy place to go. And I dig Jacoby Brissett and what he has done so far, all the credit to him. But the Falcons just knocked off a favorite, made big plays when they needed to and looked like a glimpse of the team that made it to a Superbowl a few years ago. On top of that, the pep in the step has to be there knowing that Drew Brees and Cam Newton (again, Newton is likely to) will miss time, while Jameis Winston does not look like what was advertised this offseason. The Falcons are currently priced at $3.00 (also at mybookie.ag) to win their division, something that looks more likely as others fall around them, even though the New Orleans Saints are still favored to take the South.

Out Route

Who am I completely off this week:

Devonta Freeman, which is a damn shame because I just gave the Falcons some love…

Now for those young enough to remember a literature masterpiece called ‘Pros And Cons’ you would remember that I looked into the world of the Falcons Running Back and everything that could go right and/or wrong this year. So far, outside of his body and health holding up which is great, everything else doesn’t seem to be going right. He isn’t hitting the holes with speed of elusiveness, and his front five are breaking down around him. Something seems kind of ‘off’.

I now need to see more from Freeman in order to give him the run in any of my lineups. If there is any saving grace right now it’s that against the Colts, who just gave up 82 yards and a touchdown to Derrick Henry last week.

The 9 Route

A straight forward confidence play of the week:

Who’s playing against Miami? Dallas? Really? That can’t be good for them, can it?

How about Allen Robinson at Washington on Monday night? Now again, I know that this is the second time mentioning the Bears this week (I still don’t care for Trubisky right now) but Robinson has had moments this year and gets Josh Norman, who has been getting dealt with this year so far.

I trust that Robinson will have a bounce back from Week 2 with a quiet game and will be a Top 15 Receiver this week.

Hail Mary Play Of The Week –

Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph (2) and James Washington (28) celebrate a touchdown run by Rudolph in the first quarter during a college football game between the Oklahoma State Cowboys (OSU) and the Kansas Jayhawks (KU) at Boone Pickens Stadium In Stillwater, Okla., Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017. Ok, how about we go a little deeper this week and buy into the trope of ‘they played at college together’ with a Mason Rudolph and James Washington stack at San Francisco this week? On Draft Kings, they are priced on the cheap at $4800 and $3500 respectively, and that’s as a cheap play you can find anywhere to help you build your lineup and spend up elsewhere.

And there you have it!
