Quarterbacks

SIT

Cam Newton-Panthers

The offense didn’t look that good last week, this isn’t the week you wanna start him. The Texans should be all over him, applying pressure and getting sacks on Newton. It appears that teams are going to be able to focus in on Olsen and take him away. Combine that with the fact that Watt and Clowney will be all over him and it seems we should let Cam sit on the bench this week.

Teddy Bridgewater-Vikings

Detroit is another one of those defenses that gets after the QB. The Viking offense, as a whole, did not look good last Monday. Detroit is a team that knows how to get after the QB. I’m not expecting this to be the week Bridgewater gets it going.

Tony Romo-Cowboys

While the matchup isn’t a matchup that will usually send GMs running for their back up, Romo makes this list because he doesn’t have Dez Bryant. Losing Bryant, is a major blow to this offense and an even bigger blow to Romo. It may be a Smart move to start another QB and see what Romo looks like. Of course if you don’t have a reasonable option behind Romo, you can’t sit Romo.

START

Marcus Mariota-Titans

Mariota looked very good last week as he threw for 4 touchdowns. This week he gets a matchup against a Browns Defense that has lots of room for improvement. If you are desperate this week at QB and have Mariota on the bench, plug him into the lineup. Matchups don’t get better than this.

Carson Palmer-Cardinals

While the Bears defense appears to be better than I thought they would be, they are still a matchup GMs are looking to take advantage of. Palmer is coming off a very nice week, I’m expecting his success to continue through this week. The Bears don’t pressure the QB enough and their secondary isn’t good enough to hold coverage for very long.

Joe Flacco-Ravens

This week, Joe Flacco gets to play football on a baseball field. Unless the Raiders confuse Flacco and make him think he is playing baseball, instead of football, they don’t have much of a chance at stopping him. I’m thinking this is one of those weeks the Ravens have a lot of success with the deep ball.

Running backs

SIT

C.J Anderson-Broncos

Man, this Chiefs defense looked aggressive and scary. Which is the exact opposite of what we are going to say about C.J Anderson and the Broncos running game. Once again, if you don’t have the right options behind him, you have to start him. But, if you have depth at the RB position, sit him and look elsewhere for a start.

LeGarrette Blount-Patriots

This front 4 is the scariest front four in the NFL. Blount’s first game back is going to be a tough one. He doesn’t run to the outside, he runs right up the gut. That happens to be the strongest element of the Bills defense.

Jonathan Stewart-Panthers

This is a bad matchup for Jonathan Stewart. The strength of the Texans defense is the front 4 and he will be running into them all game long. Not only am I sitting J Stew, but, I’m praying he survives. The reality of the situation is, he may be one J.J Watt hit away from his season being over.

Alfred Morris-Redskins

If you needed proof of how good this rush defense was, watching them against Lynch last week should be enough evidence for you. Morris is far from the player Lynch is. This could be ugly.

Josh Robinson-Colts

Whenever we get a new toy, we feel pressure to get them in the game. While I love the upside of Josh Robinson, I’m not starting him in this matchup, against the Jets. The Colts offensive line looked pretty bad in the run game. I’m expecting Robinson to meet jets as soon as he touches the ball.

START

Duke Johnson Jr-Browns

This week, we are gonna get to see Duke’s coming out party. This Titans defense is garbage and the only hope the Browns have at moving the ball will be by staying dedicated to the run. He is worth a shot this week.

David Johnson-Cardinals

With Ellington going down, this week the cards will be looking elsewhere for backfield production. Now the most popular name coming out of this Arizona backfield is Chris Johnson. But, we have already seen enough of Chris Johnson, to know we can’t depend on him. I believe David Johnson separates himself this week.

Justin Forsett-Ravens

He gets a solid matchup this week. Last week, we watched Bengals RBs do everything against this defense. I’m expecting him to be very active in the passing game and that he will add a touchdown or two in the rushing game.

Wide Receivers

SIT

Amari Cooper-Raiders

Yes, he is making this list again. We watched how Webb played against Demeryius Thomas, it wasn’t an aberration, he is a great cornerback and he will be on Cooper. Furthermore, if McGloin starts, he loses even more value.

Rishard Matthews-Dolphins

The Jaguars are surprisingly good against the pass. This isn’t the week to roll Matthews out. The Dolphins will be working hard to get Landry and Cameron the ball. Stash Matthews on your bench for another matchup.

James Jones-Packers

I know, we are all falling in love with James Jones, now that he is in a Packers uniform, again. This is a bad matchup for him, against the Seahawks. The only packers pass catcher, that should be starting in this game, is Randall Cobb and his matchup is scary enough.

START

Anquan Boldin-49ers

I know he didn’t look good Monday night, but, this matchup can’t be ignored. The Steelers could quite possibly be, the worst defense against the pass that I have ever seen. Being that Boldin is the possession guy, i’m leaning towards him over Torrey Smith, as to who is the better start.

Brandon Coleman-Saints

He made a bigger impact in week one than I expected. Now the table is set for him in a great matchup against the Buccaneers, who made Mariota look like Montana.
Drew Brees will pick this defense apart and you can be sure he will use Coleman’s big frame to do it.

John Brown-Cardinals

He played 97% of their offensive snaps last week. He is an emerging superstar, this is a great matchup against the Bears. Start him with confidence.

Cole Beasley-Cowboys

In my opinion, he will be the WR that benefits most from the absence of Dez Bryant. The better cornerback on opposing defenses will cover T Will and he will take on the lesser cornerback. He is a player who primarily runs safe routes and I think with Dez out of the line up, safe and conservative is exactly what the Cowboys will be looking for.

Tight end

SIT

Ladarius Green-Chargers

Even though he looked like a top TE last week, things will change this week. This Bengals defense is as under rated as a defense can get. They have play makers on every level and talent at the LB position. This will be a hard matchup for Green.

Kyle Rudolph-Vikings

The Vikings offense looked downright awful last Monday. It looked so bad that, it could be an acceptable reason to sit Rudolph, for that alone. This Detroit defense is no push over. He will be hard pressed to turn in fantasy points this week.

START

Tyler Eifert-Bengals

I love the matchup this week and you should too, the Chargers boast one of the worst secondaries in the NFL. The lack of receiving options, for the Bengals, will keep him in the mix every week.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins-Buccaneers

This kid exploded onto the scene last week and he gets another opportunity to post big numbers this week. The Saints had issues covering the TE last week and Fells is nowhere near the caliber of Jenkins. Start him with confidence

Jared Cook-Rams

He gets a date with the Redskins this week and you have to love it. They had issues with the TE last week and that should continue, as another athletic TE will be hard for them to cover.

Good luck and may Fantasy Points find you.
