Wow, what an opening weekend. I don’t know about you, but I’m excited for this league. The XFL has a good a shot as any to actually make this work. The product on the field, while not NFL-level, was actually enjoyable to watch. And, was it just me, or did everything from the television broadcast just seem more vibrant than the NFL? Maybe they used some type of high-contrast high saturation filter, but I felt like it just seemed…prettier?…for lack of a better word.
Needless to say, my rankings from Week 1 were a bit off. No one saw some of these guys coming. Of course, Christian Michael is doing Christian Michael things and not showing up to play when it counts, Matt Jones is apparently the best running back in the league, despite being listed as a backup, and Phillip Walker may have earned himself an NFL contract after Week 1. Here are my Week 2 rankings…
