2019 Pre-Draft Dynasty Buy Lows (#fantasyfootball)

Dynasty fantasy football is a never-ending season. Managers are always looking for ways to better their team either to defend their title or dethrone the league champ. The main way for every manager to better their team is to find buy-low candidates that can lead them to dynasty glory. In this article, I will go over a few of my favorite players at each position that are valued at a price where they are affordable to acquire in your dynasty league.

Quarterback

Sam Darnold (QB18) New York Jets

If you think about a roller coaster type of year for a quarterback Sam Darnold should immediately come to your mind for the 2018 season. From starting the season out with a wacky pick six to a 341 yard, three touchdown performance in week 16, Darnold was all over the map in his rookie season. That kind of season was expected of the 21-year-old raw prospect out of USC as he played on a Jets offense that had troubles clicking most of the year. The Jets were huge players in the 2019 offseason adding one of the best running backs in the league in Le’Veon Bell and adding under the radar wide receiver Jamison Crowder. These new additions with Robby Anderson and Chris Herndon should make this a very friendly team in the pass game fantasy wise with all these weapons and no one benefits from this more than Sam Darnold. Darnold is someone that I am adding in my SuperFlex leagues for a very fair price for a 21-year-old quarterback who is only heading into his second full season.

Running Back

Kenyan Drake (RB29) Miami Dolphins

KENYAN DRAKE FINISHED AS RB14 LAST SEASON UNDER ADAM GASE!!!! Enough said right? I’m guessing we can all see the problem with his current ADP? Kenyan Drake deserves to be much higher than where he currently is going in most drafts but this gives us prime opportunity to buy him low and reap the benefits. Drake had 1000 total yards and nine touchdowns last season and stayed as a valuable option in the passing game with 53 catches. At this point I expect Drake to head into the season as the lone starter for the Dolphins after the departure of Frank Gore which leaves around 150 open carries available with a majority going to Kenyan Drake. The best part about all of this is he is only 25 years old. At this price, you need to find the Drake owner immediately and see where he is at on a price tag for Drake, if it’s within your fantasy budget I strongly recommend buying.

Wide Receiver

Dede Westbrook (WR44) Jacksonville Jaguars

I know what you are thinking… How is Dede going to respond after losing quite possibly one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever step on a football field? The world may never know.

AND! Back to reality. Dede Westbrook put up 66 receptions and over 700 yards in the 2018 season with five touchdown grabs. Now with Nick Foles taking over as the starting quarterback, I think it is safe to expect that Westbrook’s production should see an uptick in close to every category. Dede at the moment is the clear cut WR1 on the Jaguars and if he and Foles can find chemistry this offseason I would not be surprised if Dede jumps all the way into being a low-end WR2 for the 2019 season.

Trey Quinn (WR89) Washington Redskins

Trey Quinn saw the field minimally in the 2018 season but the stars are aligning for 2018 Mr. Irrelevant out of SMU as the Redskins let Jamison Crowder go to the Jets in free agency opening the door for Quinn to fill the role of the slot receiver in the Redskins offense. Case Keenum has done very well with slot receivers over the last few years with the likes of Adam Thielen and Emmanuel Sanders, and now he gets a chance with the 22-year-old Trey Quinn. Quinn at his current price is a low-risk high reward player that you should be aiming to buy now before the hype builds around him as we get closer to training camp. We may not have seen much from him last year but do not be surprised when he takes over a large role in the Redskins offense in the 2019 season.
