Malik Nabers May be the Best WR in this Class

WR Malik Nabers – LSU

Career Stats: 189 rec 3003 yds 21 tds

Pros

Malike Nabers may be the most versatile player in the 2024 wide receiver class, and that is saying a lot when you have a guy like Marvin Harrison in his class. He is an elite route runner that excels in short-area quickness, stop-start ability, and explosion out of his breaks. He can play inside and outside, has great run-after-the catch ability, and with a 4.4 40 time, has the deep speed to stretch the defense.

In any other season, Nabers would be far-and-away the No. 1 WR on the board, but with Marvin Harrison in this class, he is a very close No. 2 — and in some analysts eyes he is the No. 1. Nabers excels at 5050 balls in both the underneath routes and on plays down the field and can beat DBs right at the line or scrimmage. He also understands the intricacies on beat zone coverages by throttling down to settle into the holes in the zone. All-in-all, there is not much that Nabers does not do well.

Cons

There is very little to poke holes in when in comes to Nabers, but forced to pick something, his catch radius isn’t as big as some other receivers in his class. Standing at exactly 6-foot, Nabers does not have the length some of his peers have, but does have exceptional leaping abilty sporting a 42-inch vertitcal at his Pro Day.

Beyond his catch radius, which is not bad per say, the only other knock is he sometimes struggles in press situations agaisnt athletic corners, but even this is nitpicking as he graded very well overall in press man situations.

Summary

If you told me that Malik Nabers would end up a better NFL player over Marvin Harrision Jr., it would not surprise me in the least. Nabers could end up being a furture All-Pro caliber receiver at the next level and is one of those rare talents in which landing spot won’t hurt his value. Sure, we would love to see him in a great situation, but situation should not be determining factor in his fantasy value. Confidently drafted him 1.02 in 1QB leagues and if you want to take him 1.01, I’d have zero issue with it.
