Bottom Line

Deguara is the most underrated tight-end prospect in this year’s draft without question. Do I say that because I am also a fellow Cincinnati Bearcat and have watched plenty of him over his college career? Maybe. Regardless, the potential he carries is undeniable. Deguara is a great blocker in both aspects on offense and that should translate well to the NFL. He will need to improve his strength to fend off bigger and better talent, but should still be viewed as one of the premier blockers in this year’s class.

In the passing game, Deguara offers reliable hands and should be seen as a great security blanket for any quarterback. Although he runs the safe routes with exceptional precision, his intermediate to deep routes are just as good. His ability to create space, find weak spots in defenses, and moving the defender with his eyes and hips should be seen as a valuable commodity in the NFL.

Deguara definitely has the upside to become a starter in the league one day. Coming from a TE premium school that has seen the likes of Travis Kelce and Brent Celek grace the same field as Deguara, teams will see some of them in Josiah. With all of that said, Deguara will most likely find himself drafted on Day Three. He’s hovering anywhere in the TE7-12 range for this draft class.

For dynasty feens, Deguara could very well be a diamond in the rough. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
