Bottom Line

Positive

Generational Talent gets throw around too often in college football. Trevor Lawrence deserves that moniker. There are several factors that when you watch film can easily see how it would translate into the pro game. His ball placement is consistent at all levels of the field and he has the arm strength to make every throw, even when off platform. Lawrence is able to wind up the heater when necessary, shooting the ball through tight windows.  Lawrence feels the rush coming while in the pocket, as his radar is first class. He will make the correct call more times than not to keep the play alive. He always keeps his eyes downfield, even when scrambling, as he patiently waits for his routes to develop. Trevor knows when to step up in the pocket and he can use his wheels to escape from trouble. No one is going to confuse him with a running QB though. He will always look to pass first.

Negative

Lawrence is not perfect. One issue I have with him is that being he will occasionally stare down one read for too long. He will trust in his arm too much and think he can fit it into any window. That gunslinger will need to be controlled a bit in the pro game, but not eliminated completely. There are times where he knows where he is going to throw before the snap and he refuses to adjust no matter what kind of defense he is facing. This is especially noticeable on deep balls where he allows the safeties time to catch up to his throws.

Overall, he is probably the best prospect to come out since Andrew Luck. While he does have some warts, a good coaching staff will take his enormous raw potential and turn it into a QB that could be worthy of the Hall of Fame one day.
