5 Deep League Players to Add Now (Week 11)

Please tell me you added, and subsequently played, Salvon Ahmed. Please tell me you did that. What a rush it would have been if you did. Unfortunately, if you didn’t listen last week, it’s going to be too late now. He’s likely scooped up in your league. It’s worth a look, but if he’s already on a team, feel free to hit me with an apology for the lack of trust.

That being said, clean slate for this week’s players. I can’t guarantee anything. I can only brag about it when I’m right and hide from everyone when I’m horribly wrong (ex: Chris Herndon IV, Dontrelle Inman).

Without further adieu:

Running Back

Kerryon Johnson, Detroit Lions (available in 90% of Yahoo! leagues)
This might be the least flashy name I could throw in here. It’s Hunter Renfrow-level dull, but I’ll remind you, Renfrow found the endzone when I mentioned him. D’Andre Swift is in concussion protocol, which is never a good thing this close to Sunday. Owners will line up to get Adrian Peterson in his absence, and if he’s available, that’s great, but Johnson will be more readily available and could serve as a solid fill-in. When he was the lead in this backfield, Peterson ceded work to both Swift and Johnson, and if Swift is out, that leaves only Johnson. Peterson also rarely gets work in the passing game, giving Kerryon “knee brace” Johnson a boost.

Rex Burkhead, New England Patriots (available in 59% of Yahoo! leagues)
This one is sort of cheating, seeing as I’ve already written about him, and he’s owned in a fair amount of leagues, but sometimes you have to cheat to win. Sexy Rexy has played very good football as of late and has turned the Patriots’ backfield into a two-person show with Damien Harris. He has back to back 10+ point weeks and is against a bottom-five run defense this week. His nose for the endzone as of late is also a nice bonus, scoring three times in two weeks.

Wide Receiver

Jalen Reagor, Philadelphia Eagles (available in 74% of Yahoo! leagues)
Move aside Fulghamtron, Jalen Reagor is the best receiver in this offense, and he’s finally healthy. An early-season injury set him back slightly, but he’s back and better than ever. The Eagles are a mess, but he’s seen six and seven targets in his two games back in the lineup and found the endzone in one as well. He’s the future of Philly’s receiving corps, and the final weeks of the season are where he’ll stake that claim. In a week with so many teams on bye-weeks, take a chance on him improving his 8.7 PPR points from a week ago.

Zach Pascal, Indianapolis Colts (available in 93% of Yahoo! leagues)
This guy’s hair is nuts. Seriously, look at it; it’s his team’s color. It’s kind of boss, the more you look at it. Enough about his hair, though. Let’s look at the numbers. He hasn’t seen less than five targets in any of his last four games. Since Week 3, he’s had less than 7 PPR points only once. In Week 1, he scored a touchdown and followed that with three scoreless games. Guess how many games it’s been since his last score. Bang. Three. It seems too good to be true, no? Seriously, though, he has a reasonably safe PPR floor, and in a game against Green Bay, the Colts are going to have to put up some serious numbers.

Tight End

Cameron Brate, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (available in 99% of Yahoo! leagues)
There are so many mouths to feed in Tampa, which presents a major risk when considering starting their TE2. For some reason, though, Tom Brady looks this guy’s way near the endzone. It makes sense, though. Defenses have to deal with Mike Evans, who loves touchdowns, Rob Gronkowski, who loves catching touchdowns from Brady, Antonio Brown, who loves tons of things, and Chris Godwin, who loves finally being healthy. All of those names and loves equate to the fact that defenses can only focus on so many weapons. Simply lose your eyes and ride the Brate Train all the way to hopefully one touchdown and call it a win for the week.
