Well, loyal readers, we did it. We hit the big time. Curtis Samuel, Hunter Renfrow, Albert Okwuegbunam, Darnell Mooney, the list goes on and on. The players I’ve mentioned are finally doing things. We won’t talk about the Chris Herndon IVs and Dontrelle Inmans of the world though, they were a swing and a miss, and I already apologized for those.
My point is this: add these players before it’s too late. You can trust me. I’m 4-4 in most leagues. That means I know what it takes to win, AND I know what it takes to lose. Man of the people-type work right there.
This week is going to be interesting. We’re deep into the season, COVID-19 is hitting more and more teams, byes and injuries are still a thing, and Stone Cold Steve Austin is getting a docuseries.
Without further adieu, here are this week’s adds:
Running Back
Eno Benjamin, Arizona Cardinals (available in 100% of Yahoo! leagues)
Okay, this one is a bit of a pipe dream, I have to believe in it as a Cardinals fan. There’s a reason he’s available in literally every single league. He has zero career touches. But, hear me out, please. Benjamin, a seventh-round pick of the Cardinals, was ELECTRIC at Arizona State, averaging over 1,300 yards and 13 scores on the ground over his last two seasons. “But Josh, what has he done lately?” You might ask. The answer: nothing. But Kenyan Drake, who also has done basically nothing so far, has received a ton of carries, is now likely out this week.
When David Johnson was in town, it was Drake getting carries. When Drake was the lead, it was Chase Edmonds eating into his volume. If Drake is out, Edmonds is the lead back, and Benjamin will be a beneficiary. Look for him to add a nice change-of-pace to what Edmonds brings as their lead back. I told you it was a pipe dream. But it does make sense, no?

Breida is still available in far too many leagues. Workhorse back, Myles Gaskin, is on the IR, so he’s gone for at least three weeks. Gaskin was averaging 19 touches per game, which is a huge amount of the offense now left empty. Brieda, provided his injury scare is insignificant, will be in line to pick up most of those touches.
Jordan Howard keeps getting healthy scratched, so the coaches clearly don’t love him, Lynn Bowden Jr. is a wide receiver (I think he’s also not a bad risk to take if you have room, but that’s for another week), and the newly signed DeAndre Washington has been a breakout candidate for years but never seems to break out. In the past, when Brieda was involved, he was effective, amassing over 1,700 total yards in his final two years in San Fransisco. Even if he’s out this week, add him. He’s the best back left in a system that favors a workhorse.

David Moore, Seattle Seahawks (available in 98% of Yahoo! leagues)
Moore is overshadowed, and rightfully so, by his teammates. Few realize, though, that he has the trust of Russell Wilson, which is huge. He’s already put up 10+ points in three weeks this season, and he seems to thrive on the fact that defenses have to contend with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Outside of two games, he’s presented a decent floor as well, mitigating some of the risk associated with starting him. Start him and expect around 50 yards, with a solid chance at a touchdown this week in what could be a shootout with the Bills.
Danny Amendola, Detroit Lions (available in 98% of Yahoo! leagues)
Danny Amendola has been quietly doing his thing for so long. This year his numbers don’t pop, but they have still been a steady floor for desperation plays. Working in his favor this week is the injury to Kenny Golladay and the fanfare around both Marvin Hall and Marvin Jones. His 8+ PPR points each of the last two weeks should rise as Matthew Stafford (provided he’s healthy, of course) runs without his favorite weapon. In a matchup against a leaky Vikings defense, Amendola should see 7-9 balls come his way this week, making him a steady option in PPR.
Tight End
Trey Burton, Indianapolis Colts (available in 77% of Yahoo! leagues)
It’s about time Burton gets picked up in more leagues. He has three touchdowns in his last two games, and for some reason, is getting goal-line carries as well. For Jonathan Taylor owners, that sucks big time. For tight end streamers, it’s very intriguing. A sprinkling of goal-line carries, mixed with growing attention from quarterback Phillip Rivers, is a recipe for another decent week for the athletic tight end. With injuries to their receiving corps, he should be in line for another solid performance.
