Top Plays

Marcus Stroman

Another day where good pitching is in the early slate, and we’re left with some tough situations in the main slate. Here’s the bad news. Stroman is facing the Brewers offense in the hitter-friendly Rogers Center. The Brewers can put up some runs, but here’s the good news. They strike out a ton. The Brewers lead the majors in K%, striking out 25.5% of the time.

Jaime Garcia

Many of the Marlins top hitters are left handed, giving Garcia the advantage. If he can avoid Giancarlo Stanton’s power bat, he should be able to have a solid fantasy outing.

Josh Donaldson

Assuming he’s in the lineup, Donaldson is the top hitter on the slate. Chase Anderson is simply not a good pitcher and the Blue Jays have a team total of five runs. Donaldson has the most upside of any Blue Jays hitter and I’ll do what I can to fit him (and a two or three other Blue Jays) n my lineups.

Paul Goldschmidt

Against Matt Cain, Goldschmidt should be priced in the mid-5K range on DraftKings. He’s about $700 underpriced for his talent and situation. I know DraftKings factors in the ballpark, but they may be factoring it in too much. Goldschmidt’s power projection is lower because of the park, but he still has the ability to get on base multiple times and drive in some runs.

Notes

I’m going back to the A.J. Pollock well!

The Blue Jays are the clear top stack. My current lineup has Donaldson, Jose Bautista, Troy Tulowitzki, and Devin Travis as the core.

Many factors can change between the time I write this article and the time lineups lock. I’ll do my best to update the article, so checking back frequently is encouraged. You can also ask questions on Twitter @fantasbeast15. I’ll do my best to get to all of them!
