New York Yankees at Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays have once again shown their dominance over the Yankees dating back to the ALDS to take game 1 of this series 10-5. To turn the tide on Yankees slow start, they will send out German to the mound who lost his first start of the season and gave up 4 hits, 3 runs, 2 HR, 1 BB, 2 Ks through 3 innings of play.
The Rays have improved to 3-4 with their win over the Yankees and will look to take game 2 of the series by sending out Archer who got lit up in his first start. In only 2 innings of play, he let up 4 hits, 4 runs, 1 BB, and 2 Ks.
The Yankees are the favorite on the road with a line of -125. Both pitchers didn’t have great starts and out of the two pitchers. German gets the edge making the Yankees ML the play.
Los Angeles Angels at Toronto Blue Jays
The Angels take game 1 of the series 7-1. The loss brings the Jays to a record of 3-5. The Angels are hot to start the season with a record of 6-2. To continue the hot streak, the Angels will give Quintana the nod. He saw 3 1/3 innings of play in which he got lit up for 5 hits, 4 runs, 3 BBS and 5 Ks.
The Blue Jays will counter with Matz who got a win in his first start. He had an excellent night seeing 6 1/3 innings 2 hits, 1 run, 1 BB, and 9 Ks. Pretty solid first outing.
The Blue Jays are the slight -120 favorite to win this game. The Jays are on a four game losing streak. The Jays are a solid team and losing 5 games in a row is very unlikely given that they are underperforming and the Angels are overperforming making the Blue Jays ML the play.
San Diego Padres at Texas Rangers
The Padres take game 1 of the series thanks to the phenomenal no hitter night of Musgrove. He threw the first no hitter of the season and first in Padres franchise history. Not a bad way to impress the fans on his new team.
The Padres will send out Chris Paddack to the mound to follow up the no hitter. He got pulled in 4 innings after letting up 4 hits, 3 hits, 3 BB and 3 Ks.
To turn the tide in the series, the Rangers will send out Lyles who had a decent outing in his first start that lasted 5 2/3 innings. He let up 5 hits, 2 runs, 1 HR, 0 BB, and had 8 Ks.
The Padres are the favorite on the road at -170. The Padres are 5-3 on the season and will be hyped to play tomorrow after today’s win. The Padres ML is the play.
