Atlanta Braves at Miami Marlins
The Marlins have taken the first 3 games of this series and are close to a 4 game sweep of the struggling Braves who are now 4-8 and on a 4 four game losing streak for the second time this season. The Braves will send out Anderson to turn their fortunes around. Through 10 1/3 innings, the young pitcher has let up 9 hits, 5 runs, 3 HR, 3 BB, and 13 Ks. Pretty average but he will need to step up to stop the red hot Marlins.
The Marlins will give the nod to Rodgers who played 10 innings giving up only 5 hits, 3 runs, 6 BB, and 16 Ks. Some pretty solid numbers.
The Braves are the -175 favorite despite their terrible record. The oddsmakers must feel that the Braves extending their losing streak is unlikely and I agree. The play here is Braves ML.
San Diego Padres at Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates upset the heavily favored Padres 1-5 to take a 2-1 series lead. They were able to get the best of the Padres Musgrove homecoming. The Padres will send out Paddack to avoid losing the series against a bad Pirates team. Paddack hasn’t been that great through 8 innings of action giving up 8 hits, 6 runs, 4 BB, and 6 Ks.
The Pirates will send out Keller to the mound. He has played 8 innings letting up 7 hits, 4 runs, 1 HR, 4 BB, and 11 Ks.
The Padres are the -180 favorite and are clearly the better team. The chances of losing this series is very slim. The play here is Padres ML.
Boston Red Sox at Minnesota Twins
The Twins are on the cusp of getting swept in this 4 game series by a scorching hot Red Sox team. The Red Sox are now 9-3 and tout an impressive 9 game winning streak. The Sox will send out Richards to keep the momentum going. Richards hasn’t been great this season but the bats of his teammates made it irrelevant. He has given up 10 hits, 8 runs, 2 HR, 5 BB and 6 Ks through 7 innings of play.
The Twins haven’t been able to find their bats as of late and pitching has been terrible as well. To turn their misfortunes around, they will send out one of their better pitchers in Pineda. Through 11 innings, he has let up 8 hits, 3 runs, 2 HR, 2 BB, and 11 Ks.
The Twins are -160 favorite to avoid the sweep. The Red Sox have to cool down at some point and betting against them must start now. They have pitching advantage making the Twins ML the play.
