San Diego Padres at San Francisco Giants

The Giants are on the verge of sleeping the Padres as they convincingly take game 2 by a score of 7-1. The Giants are playing some great baseball and currently sit 1st in the NL West with a record of 20-13. Everyone had Dodgers or Padres to lead the Division and hear yet hear we are. I have a feeling that the Giants will play spoiler in this division late in the season.

The Giants will send out veteran Cueto (2-0) to the mound who has played 20.0 innings letting up 13 hits, 4 runs, 0 HR, 4 BB, and 18 Ks. He has a ERA and whip of 1.80 and 0.85, respectively. He is still throwing some heat at his age.

The Padres have yet to announce their starting pitcher for this game. The Padres fall to 18-16 overall and are .500 in the past 10 games.

The odds for this game are not out yet due to San Diego not announcing their pitcher. I except the odds to be relatively close with the favorite going either way. Whichever way it goes, I will be targeting the Padres ML and will definitely play the Padres +1.5 if they get that runline.

Tampa Bay Rays at Oakland Athletics

The Athletics are on the cusp of a sweep of the Rays after two close games. The A’s have been getting some decent pitching that has slowed the Rays that came into this series on a 5 game winning streak. To stop the sweep, the Rays will send out young gun McClanahan (0-0) to the mound. He has seen only 8 innings of play letting up 7 hits, 2 runs, 1 HR, 2 BB, and 10 Ks. Some pretty solid numbers to start the season.

The A’s now sit at 21-14 and are playing baseball better than almost anyone. Their pitching and bats have been pinpoint since their massive winning streak earlier in the season. They will counter with Irvin (3-3) who has played 35 innings so far this season. He has let up 35 hits, 12 runs, 3 HR, 5 BB, and 34 Ks. He has played great after his first two starts and knows how to get out the inning after giving up hits.

The A’s are the slight favorite to win this game with a line of -115. The A’s can easily win this game but the Rays will not give them the easy win with McClanahan showing some promise. The play here is Rays RL.
