Greetings summoners! The Lunar Revel is finally upon us, and with it comes the promise of great deals, good lore and, of course, the featured Lunar Revel skins for Wukong, Morgana and Caitlyn. Let’s get right into it!
As with every Riot event on League of Legends, there is a short little lore story surrounding the featured skins. This time, the story revolves around a land being strangled by darkness under the cold grip of two evil queens. These roles being filled by Morgana and Caitlyn. The hour is late, but then a traveler arrives, bearing the radiance of the sun. The traveler in the story is portrayed by Wukong. Riot’s 
Winter Snowdown Shop that they held last winter was such a huge hit with players that they decided to bring it back and, this time, revamp it for the Lunar Revel event. Just as with Snowdown 2015, each player will receive personalized offers although these will be deals on random skins. Lucky summoners may even be able to get great deals on ultimate skins like Spirit Guard Udyr and DJ Sona. These deals range anywhere from 20% to 70% off the original price of the skin! Be sure to check your Lunar Revel shop on January 28th when it begins to see if there’s something special in there.
Finally, the new skins that Riot has concocted for this year’s Lunar Revel are available. The three skins embody the tale that Riot wove with their lore piece concerning the Lunar Revel, with Lunar Wraith Caitlyn and Morgana and Radiant Wukong. The two Lunar Wraith skins are legacy, and as such will be available for only a limited time. Come February 8th, the two wraiths will descend back into the vault until next Lunar Revel. The shining hero Radiant Wukong however, will be available permanently as he is not tagged as legacy. The Caitlyn and Wukong skins are available for 1350 RP while Lunar Wraith Morgana can be snagged for 975. These three skins have amazing artwork and in-game particle effects. I’m partial to the Caitlyn skin myself, although it could definitely have benefited from a voice over to fit the whole look and feel of being an evil wraith hellbent on covering the world in shadow.
