CSGO DFS – Breaking Down the DraftKings Slate (4/9/20)

If you aren’t playing CSGO on DraftKings then I don’t know what to tell you… do it! It’s exciting, riveting, stunning and best of all it lasts all damn day. Okay so that last part might not be the best in terms of DFS but in these dire times I have been finding a small bit of solace in watching all of the games every day.

Which made me think, so when is the next slate? Well it’s actually tomorrow but thank goodness for y’all on the west coast because the slate starts at 9:25 am tomorrow instead of 5:25 am which it was today. And we also see a massive increase in the number of matches with 6 across the slate which should mean all of the DFS lines won’t be the same. So let’s cut the crap and dive into tomorrow’s slate like that boy Rodney Dangerfield off the high dive in that movie Back to School (classic).

Series #1: FaZe (-220) v OG (+170)

Love this matchup for FaZe as OG tends to get bullied by some of the stronger teams although they did pick up a sneaky win over Fnatic recently. But hey I called that one, and this one I’m not calling because FaZe is pissed off and it’s mainly NiKo who is doing the pissing. Okay that made zero sense but hey how about that performance from NiKo today? He had himself 86 kills today and only 55 deaths and that was vs the #1 seeded NaVi. Now just imagine the performance he will have vs a team that isn’t even in the top 20 in OG. It’s going to be ugly and here is my reasoning. FaZe is a team filled with veterans and they’re currently riding a 4-series losing streak. They will be looking to take out a lot of frustration tomorrow and that is why I’m recommending we get a few of them into our DFS Lineups. My plays on DraftKings would be NiKo ($8,800) and Rain ($6,400).

Series #2: NaVi (-150) v FNC (+120)

NaVi is the favorite here literally because of one player and his name is s1mple and he is an absolute beast with an AWP in his hand. But the problem is it’s not just the AWP, this man knows the game of CSGO like the back of his hand and it’s evident by how much he plays the game. And it’s also evident by his performances as he has led his team in kills in basically every single match. That’s why he’s about $2,400 higher than the next guy on the team which is electronic. But if it’s only one guy then why am I picking NaVi? Well it’s not a mistake that they are currently ranked #1 in the world and Fnatic actually plays into their slower game style very well. Fnatic makes plays that would look idiotic on any other team but for them it’s just another day. Sometimes these plays work like Flusha running through his own Molotov to get two kills early. But sometimes these plays also look trash like Flusha running through his own Molotov and burning alive in front of the enemy team. These types of plays will not work vs NaVi as they are starting to look a lot stronger in my eyes after the comeback vs FaZe today. My favorite plays on DraftKings from NaVi is actually just one play and you guessed it, it’s s1mple ($9,200).

Series #3: Astralis (-145) v mousesports (+115)

Personally I wouldn’t play this series I would just watch it. Mainly because these two teams are insanely evenly matched. And if you needed evidence then look no further than at their losses to Fnatic. The only real difference is that mousesports swept NaVi 2-0 while Astralis lost 1-2 to NaVi. But Astralis definitely changed things up with their back-to-back sweeps over OG and FaZe. If you have to play someone here it’s going to be ropz ($8,800) or frozen ($8,400) from mousesports and it’s going to be magisk ($7,200) and dupreeh ($8,400) from Astralis.

Series #4: MAD (-400) v FPX (+300)

Before you think FPX even has a shot in this game I want you to think about something. Think about the fact that FPX isn’t even FPX’s roster, it’s instead a team called the Bad News Bears who is not currently even sponsored. So why are they here then? Well visa issues is what I am under the impression of but if you listen to FPX’s players it’s basically all Flashpoint’s fault which is the B-tier league compared to the ESL Pro League. If you want some evidence that the odds should be this lopsided then just look at their last series on 4/5. 32-16 rounds for Mad Lions in what was a 2-0 sweep. Yea so this is going to be the highest owned stack of the whole day in my eyes and the stack on DraftKings goes like this – bubzkji ($9,000), roeJ ($7,000) and sjuush ($7,600).

Series #5: Furia (-180) v MiBR (+140)

Before I say anything let me be clear, Furia might be the favorite on paper but I think they are going to get whooped on by MiBR. So if you like to bet, take MiBR +140 and get that money honey. Now on to the breakdown in what is going to be an all Brazil series. Yes both of these teams are located in Brazil and they both have legends across them. But the most well recognized name has to be Fallen on MiBR as he is essentially one of The Godfather’s of the Brazilian counterstrike scene. And he has not slowed down one bit as his AWPing has been crisp and clean so far in the ESL Pro League. Now yes I know Furia beat MiBR on 3/30 but that game was a fluke in my eyes as MiBR has looked much better since that series winning 4 of their last 5. Furia during that same span has lost 2 of their last 3 including an 0-2 sweep at the hands of Swole Patrol who MiBR swept 2-0. Give me MiBR in the Battle for Brazil which I just made up. In terms of DFS, the plays out of MiBR will be FalleN ($8,200) and Fer ($7,800).

Series #6: Gen.G (-135) v C9 (+105)

Finally, the final game of this massive 6-series slate. And these odds are much too close for comfort. But let’s be honest, the favorite here should be C9 as their roster is more talented across the board compared to Gen.G. Yes C9 was abused last series by Havu but that was more of a story of Havu being on a tear than C9 playing poorly as guys like Floppy still managed to have 46 kills in that series, even though only they only played 2 maps. Gen.G has done their best so far in Flashpoint but honestly their best is terrible as all they have on the board is two wins over Dignitas and a win over Envy. Other than that they have lost to MiBR 3 times and even got swept by Chaos. C9 on the other hand has gone 5-2 in Flashpoint and that includes wins over Dignitas and Envy who I just mentioned beat Gen.G. Catch me on Cloud9 betting on Cloud9 with Cloud9 players in my DFS lineup. And those DFS plays would be – floppy ($8,400), oSee ($7,800) and motm ($7,400).
