CSGO DFS – Breaking Down the DraftKings Slate (4/11/20)

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a first-person shooter (FPS) has been around since 2012. And all it took was a global pandemic for all of us DFS users to get a taste of the action with DraftKings being the first company to offer contests. FanDuel eventually followed suit about a month later but as you can see from the prize pools, DraftKings is clearly winning this battle between the DFS heavyweights.

So why am I bringing this up? Well just look at the title. Although there is a FanDuel slate available for tomorrow I will not be breaking into it. Don’t worry though, all that means is that I will not be including price tags for FanDuel. You can still use all of the juicy information I provide for each match to get an idea of who to target and who to avoid. So without further ado let’s break into this slate like we’re on some Oceans 11 type ish.

Series #1: Astralis (-240) v Mousesports (+185)

Didn’t these two teams just play each other? Why yes they did, they played on Thursday and um Astralis basically wiped the floor with mousesports. They ran away with map 1 and then ran away with map 2 and won 32/36 total rounds. What! Yea I know it was ugly and it’s hard to imagine that with such a short turnaround that anything would really be different here. Astralis is the highest betting favorite of the slate and is the most expensive stack of the slate.

Now look I can definitely understand if you want to hope for mousesports to come back to form. But honestly I think it’s too little too late as this is now 2 straight losses and they have both been 0-2 sweeps. So bring out the brooms y’all because it’s going to be another sweep tomorrow and Astralis is going to taking advantage of the weaknesses mousesports is showing. And I can’t help but laugh as this is happening after mousesports literally said they were the “best team in the world” after beating NaVi 2-0.

DFS Plays: Magisk ($8,400), Xyp9x ($7,400), Device ($9,000)

Series #2: GenG (-190) v FPX (+160)

I heard the casters for Flashpoint basically insinuate that GenG could get upset by FPX tomorrow and I have to say I can’t blame them as GenG was coming off a disappointing loss to C9. But come on they could not be more wrong.

These two teams actually played each other earlier this year but FPX (who isn’t really FPX) was under another name, this time being Riot Squad. And sure that team was a bit different with FNS being replaced by Dapr but come on does that really change much? Actually it does as Dapr is an elite fragger but the key here is the other talent. No one besides Dapr has shown any life so far this tournament and their strategies have looked poor at best.

This is why I’m heavily favoring GenG to win tomorrow. But I’m also favoring them because that C9 match on Thursday was close as hell and that was mainly thanks to guys like s0m ($7,000), koosta ($8,000) and BnTeT ($6,400). I also really like their prices as these 3 players combined come in at a total of $21,400. That’s less than half of our salary which means a GenG stack can allow us to pay up elsewhere.

DFS Plays: s0m ($7,000), koosta ($8,000), BnTeT ($6,400)

Series #3: Orgless v Chaos

If you’re wondering why this series doesn’t have odds it’s because I literally couldn’t find any. Wait what? Yea I can’t explain it either. My best guess is that this match is so crappy and so terrible that the major players like Bovada figured no one in their right mind would be this one.

I mean on one side you have Chaos who is led by Steel who is a bonafide CSGO legend. So why is his team so shit? Well it’s because they have no other talent on the team besides maybe uhhh Cam? Idk this team really hasn’t shown any life besides Steel asking for an AWP and carrying. But the problem is the communication as there are a lot of plays they make were it seems like no one was able to get off clear communication.

That’s not an issue that can be fixed overnight and I believe the issue is actually their best player (Steel). He is the in-game leader and that’s the guy who calls the plays and the shots. But a few searches on YouTube can help you understand what I mean. Steel has a propensity to blow up on his teammates and when you’re already down 7-1 to start off a map that isn’t going to make a team play better. But the funny thing is if you play anyone from Chaos it’s Steel ($7,800) as he could carry the entire match tomorrow since his teammates can’t really do much.

Sorry for the rant, I almost forgot I had to talk about Orgless. But don’t think that means they aren’t my favorite in this match as they showed a lot of good things in their series today vs MiBR as they managed to take it to 3 maps. I’ll keep it short and sweet here y’all, basically Orgless has a few mechanically gifted players but their strategies suck. That’s actually something I like vs a team like Chaos though as we could see massive kill numbers out of Orgless. And the guys getting those numbers will be Subroza ($7,200), WARDELL ($7,200) and Infinite ($7,000).

DFS Plays:

Chaos – Steel ($7,800)

Orgless – WARDELL ($7,200), Infinite ($7,000) and Subroza ($7,200)

Series #4: Evil Geniuses (-165) v Furia (+130)

I’m happy that Evil Geniuses is favored here because I truly do think they are the better mechanically gifted team as guys like Brehze ($7,800), CeRq ($7,600) and Ethan ($6,600) have been impressive throughout the ESL Pro League so far. But what’s interesting is that DraftKings actually has Furia higher priced than Evil Geniuses on tomorrow’s slate.

I think this is something we can take advantage of tomorrow but I need to warn you it isn’t going to be some beat down. Furia is a really good team and they have players you need to worry about. But Brehze has been arguably been the most consistent fragger in the ESL Pro League so far with 59.83 kills per series over his last 6. And the same goes for CeRq who has averaged 55.83 kills per series over that same span. This combination is going to be too much for Furia in my opinion as I am expecting another 3-map series that will go down to the wire as two very talented teams battle it out.

DFS Plays: CeRq ($7,600), Brehze ($7,800)
