Welcome to the Barbershop!! When we guys walk into the shop, what is the most common haircut we ask for?? If you said a fade, you would be right. That’s what we specialize in at the Fantasy Barbershop!!! We give all types of fades, from high to low. The one BIG difference you will notice is there aren’t any barbers here. In fact, the only Barber that you may find is a guy named Peyton. I take that back. We won’t be talking about that guy either. The idea behind this shop is to educate you on the different styles of fades. Take a seat and look at the menu, please!!!

The Menu: High Fade ( a fade of a high priced guy, or a high owned guy), Medium Fade ( a fade of a guy in the mid-range), low fade ( a fade of a chalky value play, or low priced guy)

High Fade– With the high fade, I’m going to a guy who has the highest projected ownership and the highest salary at his position. This might seem crazy to some, but it’s Travis Kelce. We all know what Kelce brings every game. This could be a bold call or completely stupid. Either way, my reasons are because of the Dolphins safety Eric Rowe. The move to safety for Rowe has been the best thing for his career.

The Dolphins’ defense has really started to come alive and be a strong unit. The one thing that has been overlooked is the play of Rowe. This season, Rowe has shut down some of the best tight ends in the game. In fact, no TE has been over 55 receiving yards. He has also only allowed one touchdown. The match-up with Kelce will be his biggest test, but the converted corner will be up for the challenge.

The one TD he has given up was to Hunter Henry. Before that, he held Henry to four catches for 30 yards. Another top TE he held in check was George Kittle. He gave up just one catch for 12 yards to Kittle. The challenge with Kelce would be crazy to think he shuts him down completely. However, I do think he can hold his own and keep Kelce in check.

For the salary, I would temper expectations in this one. I also believe the Dolphins try to run and keep the Chiefs offense off the field. That will limit some targets and upside as well. It’s something to consider, and if you’re not happy with the fade, go to the next shop. I don’t want to hear it when you’re back next week needing me to clean you up after Kelce busts.

Medium Fade– The medium-priced fade is Mike Davis. There is between eight to ten percent projected ownership being reported. Those numbers put Davis in the top 10 for running back ownership. In this spot, I have zero interest. Since week six, Davis has been above 12 fantasy points, just once. The Broncos have given up an average of 17 fantasy points per game to RB’s, but that number is misleading.

There have been three games where they’ve given up over 30 fantasy points, and one was a four TD game by the Raiders. The other two were to the Saints and Chargers. If you take those games away, the Broncos defense hasn’t given up more than 16 fantasy points.

With the Panthers giving snaps and carries to Rodney Smith and Trenton Cannon, it only hurts Davis more. I don’t see this being the game that Davis gets back on track. You would be better off with other guys in this price range. This one doesn’t feel as bold. I actually feel good about this call. Take the advice and enjoy the clean fade. There is no charge. It’s on the house.

Low Fade– We’re going low salary, with some ownership. The low fade is Breshad Perriman. He’s coming in around 15 percent ownership. I get the injury to Denzel Mims and the targets it should open up. The thing is, people see the Seahawks defense and assume you can pass all day on them. If this were early in the season, I would agree.

It’s week 14, and the Seahawks have improved their pass defense. The trade to get Carlos Dunlap has helped the pass rush. In the last three weeks, the Seahawks are top seven in pass yards allowed. They’ve allowed 179 pass yards per game in the last three. Those numbers look good because of some bad offenses, but the Jets are at the bottom as well.

The pass rush has got better, and the secondary has been better. I think we see that trend continue. The price of Perriman is low, so it doesn’t take much to hit value, but if you’re looking for GPP upside, then go elsewhere. There is a better play for a little less in Michael Gallup. I have used a Jets offensive player once this year, and I’m staying away here too. To me, there isn’t any upside in what should be a beatdown that will have the Seahawks grinding out the clock in the end. I think we can find a better value and one that doesn’t come with as much ownership.

Other fades to consider: Kirk Cousins, Mitchell Trubisky, Devontae Booker (if no Jacobs), Dalvin Cook, Kenyan Drake, Brandin Cooks, Tyler Boyd, and Tee Higgins

I have been playing Fantasy leagues for 15 years, and have been playing DFS since DraftKings started in 2012. It wasn't until almost 5 years ago I really started using it as way to bring in consistent extra income, and have since been a cash game grinder for the most part. When it comes to DFS I don't discriminate, even though most my experience is in NFL and NBA, I do also play NCAAF, NCAAB, MLB, MMA, and played some LOL once the sports world shutdown at first. When I'm not doing anything sports related I like to spend time with my wife and 2 daughters, and go fishing.
