For today, May 27th, the “main slate” consists of six games. There is also an early slate consisting of five games should fantasy managers feel the urge to play.

Pitchers

For this slate, there are five pitchers who average more than 15.9 FPTS/game. That being said, there are several solid, but not dominant, options to choose from.

Top-tier

Sonny Gray(Reds) $9700 @ Nationals Gray has struggled(3.96 ERA/1.46 WHIP) early in the season, but he is my top selection on this slate. He has 47 strikeouts over 36 innings and the Nationals only plated one run in the series opener on Monday.

Shohei Ohtani(Angels) $7700 @ A’s 1-0 record with 2.37 ERA/1.25 WHIP. Ohtani has 45 strikeouts over 30 innings. Fantasy managers will need to check the Angels’ lineup to make sure Ohtani will be on the bump.

Others I Like

Alex Wood(Giants) $6900 @ Dodgers, despite the extremely tough matchup it is hard to ignore the price point. Wood is 5-1(1.93 ERA/1.05 WHIP) on the season and scored 17.5 FPTS in his last start(a 2-1 loss to these Dodgers).

Stephen Strausburg(Nationals) $8500 vs Reds, coming off over a month layoff, Strausberg pitched 5.1 innings in his last start(vs Orioles) and scored 21.0 FPTS.

Stacks

My two favorite stacks for this slate are the White Sox facing the Orioles(Bruce Zimmerman) and the Giants facing the Dodgers(Edwin Uceta). Zimmerman has a 5.59 ERA/1.55 WHIP, while Uceta checks in with a 5.87 ERA and 1.83 WHIP. I will also be filling out my lineup with a few Cardinals(Molina/Arenado/Carlson) when the price tag permits.
