DFS MLB DraftKings Lineup Advice for 6/5

For tonight, June 5th, the main slate consists of six games. For DFS players wanting additional action, there is an afternoon slate(starting at 1:10 CDT) of nine games. Although the “main slate” has more “aces” on the mound, the afternoon has plenty to build lineups around.

Pitchers

Although there are only twelve pitchers to choose from in this slate, seven of them average at least 16.1 FPTS/game on the season. In addition, only two of these, deGrom and Kershaw, are priced over $9k.

Top-tier

Jacob deGrom(Mets) $11100 @ Padres averaging 34.3 FPTS/game on the season. Has a 4-2 record with a 0.71 ERA/0.57 WHIP. Although the most expensive pitcher on the slate, it is almost impossible not to pay up.

Kevin Gausman(Giants) $8900 vs Cubs 6-0 record(1.40 ERA/0.81 WHIP). Has scored at least 27.1 FPTS in five straight starts.

Others I Like

Joe Musgrave(Padres) $8700 vs Mets despite facing deGrom, Musgrave deserves his own billing. He has a 2.08 ERA/0.76 WHIP, with 79 strikeouts over 60.2 innings.

Alex Cobb(Angels) $6900 vs Mariners although Cobb’s peripherals(3.78 ERA/1.35 WHIP) are not spectacular, his 43 strikeouts over only 33.1 innings is very impressive. At his price tag, a fantasy player could pair him with deGrom and still save money for hitting.

Others I Like

Christian Vazquez(C-Red Sox) $3200 @ Yankees

Will Smith(C-Dodgers) $4100 @ Braves

Jared Walsh(1B-Angels) $4100 vs Mariners

Zach Mckinstry(2B-Dodgers) $2800 @ Braves

Ozzie Albies(2B-Braves) $4300 vs Dodgers

Brandon Crawford(SS-Giants) $3800 vs Cubs

Gio Urshela(3B-Yankees) $3300 vs Red Sox

Evan Longoria(3B-Giants) $4200 vs Cubs

Alex Verdugo(OF-Red Sox) $3100 @ Yankees

Chris Taylor(OF-Dodgers) $4300 @ Braves

Stacks

My two favorite stacks for this slate are the Red Sox and the Giants. The Red Sox face the Yankees(Jameson Taillon), while the Giants host the Cubs(Kohl Stewart). Taillon is 1-4 with a 5.10 ERA/1.26 WHIP on the season, while Stewart made his season debut last start out(5/31 vs Padres). Although Stewart only gave up one run and three hits over five innings, I am willing to take a chance on the Giants’ hitters.

In order to stay within salary limits, there are several Dodgers(Smith/Mckinstry/Taylor) that can be utilized. The Dodgers face a slightly tougher matchup against the Braves’ Charlie Morton, but Morton has proved to be hittable over the course of the season. He has a 4.26 ERA/1.28 ERA.
