MLB DFS Pitcher Chart & Lineup Advice – 4/28/2017

Last Updated: 4/28/2017 – 7:02 AM CT

The pitcher chart is located under my top plays!

Top Plays

Max Scherzer

Scherzer is the top play on Friday’s slate, facing the Mets at home. Scherzer is almost in the Clayton Kershaw territory where you do what you can to fit him in each time he plays. He has at least 25 DraftKings points in each start this year, and is $1,200 cheaper than he was last time he faced the Mets where he put up 30.4 DK points. To top it off, the Mets have the second worst wRC+ against righties this year.

Carlos Carrasco

Carrasco will face the Mariners at home and is the largest favorite on the slate. The Mariners don’t strike out a ton, but Carrasco has built in strikeout upside with his 27% strikeout percentage this year. Carrasco is tied for the second lowest OTT (see pitcher chart) on the slate. He’s my favorite GPP target, and may even be a cash game target.

Lance Lynn

Lynn continues to pitch well this year and will face the Reds at Busch Stadium. Lynn has a low OTT and is a significant favorite in this matchup. The Reds are not a good offense, and are especially bad when they can’t steal bases. Lynn is one of the best pitchers at preventing stolen bases. Pair him with Yadier Molina, and I have a hard time believing the Reds run wild. Lynn is my favorite SP2 option in cash games.

A.J. Pollock/Yasmani Tomas

Pollock and Tomas will each have the platoon advantage against Kyle Freeland. They will play in hitter friendly Chase Field, and the Diamondbacks have the highest team total on the slate. I’ve played Pollock more than any other player this season (except maybe Mike Moustakas), and it’s because he is always underpriced. Until the price is adjusted on the Diamondbacks hitters, I’ll keep playing them every night.

Freddie Freeman

I didn’t mention Paul Goldschmidt with Pollock and Tomas because I like Freeman just a bit more. He’ll face Chase Anderson in Miller Park which is an elite park for lefty power. Freeman has the third highest home run projection on Friday, and Anderson has been pitching way better than expected to start the year. I’m expecting to see some regression soon.

Orioles Righties

My favorite GPP stack are the Orioles. They will face C.C. Sabathia who is projected to give up more home runs than anyone else on the slate. I love Adam Jones, Manny Machado, and Mark Trumbo. You could also consider Jonathan Schoop and Trey Mancini depending where they hit in the order. The best GPP play might be Chris Davis as many will avoid him due to the lefty/lefty matchup.

Notes

Mike Moustakas is again underpriced, and will again be my third baseman.

Corey Dickerson is also underpriced, as is Brad Miller, making them quality options against Marcus Stroman.

Kenta Maeda has struggled to start the year, but he’s in the conversation for SP2 tonight.

The pitching chart will be updated often. Make sure to check back for the newest information, especially if a column is currently incomplete!
