DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 1/17/19
I’m almost certain that NBA Executives were huge Must See TV fans in the 90’s. How else can we explain the small slates that typically make up NBA DFS on Thursdays? However, there is still fun and value to be had as we approach Thursday’s 5 game slate.
Top Plays
Kemba Walker (8700 DK) versus Sacramento
Kemba Walker going against Sacramento whose pace of play is among the fastest in the league is a dream matchup. While he disappoints at times, Kemba is far cheaper than Russell Westbrook, and Ben Simmons and should have a huge night.
Nikola Jokic (10,600 DK) versus Chicago
If you want to pay up, pay up for the Joker. Riddle me this, who on the Bulls can stick with Jokic on the perimeter? Answer, nobody. Coming off a blowout loss to the Warriors, the Nuggets are pissed and should take it out on the hapless Bulls.
Value Plays
Malik Beasley (4900 DK) versus Chicago
Another Nugget, another solid pick. Malik Beasley is super scoring dependent. With Gary Harris unlikely to play and Will Barton’s minutes probably being limited in what figures to be a blowout, Malik Beasley figures to get a lot of minutes and shots, and should exceed value.
Chandler Hutchinson (3700 DK) @ Denver
Same game, different side. The key to winning in NBA DFS is finding value options that come through, so one can jam in stars with high usage rates. Chandler Hutchinson is playing solid minutes for the Bulls and should provide the necessary value here to allow you to pay up for Jokic and/or Westbrook.

Myles Turner (6700 DK) versus Philadelphia
Indiana is a solid team and right ahead of Philadelphia in the standings. While the game might be close, the idea of Myles Turner and his recent injury struggles facing the defense of Joel Embiid is not for me, no thanks.
Victor Oladipo (7600 DK) versus Philadelphia
I fully admit this pick may come back to bite me. Despite his high usage rate, I have no interest in Victor Oladipo. The price is good, but Jimmy Butler’s defense is better. I personally am off Dipo, but there is always the chance he surprises in this spot.
