NBA DraftKings Lineup 12/27/20 brought to you by
CraftBeerClub.com

A product of this condensed NBA season is we get 9-game slates on Sunday! We still have very little to go on in the way of stats, but I’ll do the best I can to justify my calls until we have some more data to point to.

Speaking of data, I will be bringing back my NBA spreadsheet once again this season. New and improved. I’m testing it now, but it’s hard to test without much data to go on, but I’m hoping to have it ready some time in January.

Let’s get to the column…

NBA DFS Legend

Nothing But NetMy top plays of the night at his position.
DunkA Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.
Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 12/27/20

Nothing But Net | Bradley Beal (WAS) $8,900 vs. ORL

There is a rumor that Russell Westbrook won’t play in this game as the second game in a back-to-back, and if that happens, Beal becomes a must-start against a Magic team that just let him score 39 NBA points against them last night — and that was with Russell Westbrook on the court. These two teams combined for 250 points yesterday, so there’s that…

Dunk | Jaylen Brown (BOS) $7,500 @ IND

Through the first two games, Brown is averaging 48.38 DK points. Yes, I know, small sample size, but it’s all we have to go one right now. Kemba Walker isn’t due back in the lineup for at least a few weeks, by then, Brown’s price may be in the mid-8000s. The Pacers are dead last in points allowed to combo guards like Brown (via Rotogrinders.com).

Half-Court Shot | Donte DiVincenzo (MIL) $5,200 @ NY

DiVincenzo’s price tag is actually exactly where it should be, but he is still a value, albeit not as a good as he was the last two games. The Knicks are a good matchup for him as well as they struggle to defend the guard position.

Blocked Shot | LeBron James (LAL) $10,000 vs. MIN

James I dealing with an ankle injury, one that won’t keep him from playing, but may limit him — at $10,000 I’m not risking it. As 11-point favorites, there is a scenario where James is sitting out the fourth-quarter of this game.

Nothing But Net | Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL) $10,500 @ NY

The Greek Freak has struggled by fantasy standards to start the season, averaging only 47 DK points through two games. The Knicks are a good matchup for him, and despite the 11-point spread in favor of the Bucks, paying up for Antetokounmpo isn’t a bad idea.

Dunk | Lauri Markkanen (CHI) $6,500 vs. GS

Well, he isn’t as cheap as he was in their opener when he was $4,800, but even at $6,500 I think he has a good ceiling versus the lowly Warriors. The Warriors are giving up the fourth most points overall in this young season. Again, small sample, but if you’ve watched the Warriors play, that’s not changing any time soon.

Half-Court Shot | Isaac Bonga (WAS) $3,800 vs. ORL

Bonga played 16 minutes in the opener against the Sixers and 20 minutes last night against the Magic. If Westbrook is indeed out this game, Bonga could see a bump in minutes and at $3,800, should have no trouble paying off his salary.

Blocked Shot | Anthony Davis (LAL) $10,200 vs. MIN

Very similar to LeBron, Davis is dealing with a minor injury and there is a range of outcomes in which Davis plays less minuted than he normally would. Paying $10,200 is tough to swallow.

  2. Khris Middleton $7,800
  3. RJ Barrett $7,000
  4. Josh Hart $4,800

Centers

DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 12/27/20

Nothing But Net | Joel Embiid (PHI) $9,800 @ CLE

Embiid loves seeing Drummond on his schedule. I don’t know what it is with those too, but they always seem to go at each other, and Embiid normally ends up on the better side. Drummond has changed scenery, but I would expect more of the same from these two.

Dunk | James Wiseman (GS) $6,600 @ CHI

Wiseman’s price has steadily climbed over his first couple of games, but $6,600 isn’t a bad price to pay in a god matchup against the Bulls. He is getting around 25 minutes a game in two blowout losses this season. Maybe he will get over 30 minutes tonight.

Half-Court Shot | Markieff Morris (LAL) $4,300 vs. MIN

I’d like this play a lot more if Anthony Davis or LeBron James are ruled out or confirmed to be limited, so for now it’s just a speculative value play. If both James and Davis play, I still like Morris as a decent punt option, but I won’t have as much exposure to him.

Blocked Shot | Andre Drummond (CLE) $8,600 vs. PHI

I don’t like his matchup with Embiid in this game. He played the twice last year as a member of the Pistons and fouled out in one of them.

  2. Nikola Vucevic $8,300
