Guards

Top PlayLeBron James $10,100 LAL @ MIN

With the unfortunate injury news on Anthony Davis (calf) being out for the next 2-3 weeks King James will have to carry the Lakers on his back until his partner in crime is ready to play again. To start the few week stretch without Davis, LeBron will get a terrible defense in the Minnesota Timberwolves. He has scored over 50 fantasy points in 5 of his last 6 games and obviously will get a huge usage bump without Davis on the court. Lebron will have the ball in his hands a ton tomorrow night against a bottom of the barrel defense and we should see triple-double upside.

Mid-tier | Jamal Murray $7,200 DEN @ BOS

The Denver Nuggets are riddled with injuries at the guard position which means Murray will have to play all the minutes he possibly can. Most people will play Nikola Jokic tomorrow and rightfully so but I love the usage Murray will be getting tomorrow night and at only $7,200 it will be hard for him to hurt your lineup even if he doesn’t crush the price tag. I love Jamal Murray going up against Boston, it should be a competitive game that should stay close so you will see Murray get a ton of minutes with Denver’s options to get him some rest limited. He’s coming off two stellar fantasy performances the last 2 games (40.3 and 39.0) and I expect that to continue at discounted price tag with an uptick in minutes/usage %.

Value | Facundo Campazzo $3,300 DEN @ BOS

I’ll be playing Campazzo for some salary relief tomorrow for pretty much the same reasons I just mentioned in Jamal Murray’s write up. The Nuggets don’t have many other viable guard options other than Jamal Murray and Facundo Campazzo. He’s only $3,300 and saw 26 minutes against the Lakers last game where he put up 15 real points with 4 assist and 2 steals. This play really rides on the Monte Morris news who is questionable for tomorrow with a strained right shoulder but if Morris does sit then I will be locking Campazzo into a lot of my lineups at only $3,300.

Fade | Fred VanVleet $8,200 TOR @ MIL

This could be one of those fades that comes back to bite me in the you know what but I’m willing to take my chances. VanVleet has cooled off as of late and we’re no longer getting him at below 8K. He’s been hovering around 30 fantasy points the last 3 games and that’s not enough to win you a tournament at $8,200. I’m going to be off Fred VanVleet until his price drops below 8K again or he gets back to putting up 50 plus fantasy points a night.

Others I Like Damian Lillard $9,700, Devin Booker $8,300, Khris Middleton $8,000, Kyle Lowry $7,400, Ja Morant $7,500, Dennis Schroder $5,900, R.J. Hampton $3,400

DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 2/16/2021

Top Play | Giannis Antetokounmpo $11,000 TOR @ MIL

The “Greek Freak” has been on an absolute tear as of late and I’m going to continue to ride him while he’s this hot. In the last three games Giannis has put up 70.8, 65.3 and 74.8 fantasy points! There’s no one on the Toronto Raptors that can guard Giannis Antetokounmpo and with Jrue Holiday (COVID-19) continuing to be out, him and Khris Middleton $8,000 are getting usage bumps and assist % bumps. Giannis is the most expensive play on the slate so that could possibly keep his ownership in check some what but I’m going to be playing lots of him tomorrow either way.

Mid-tier | Kyle Anderson $6,400 NO @ MEM

Anderson is one of my favorite plays to sneak into a lineup. He has quietly became a 1.1 fantasy point per minute player this year and he just put up a stellar fantasy performance on Valentines Day where he went for 41.5 fantasy points. Brandon Clarke $6,100 is back now but that didn’t effect his minutes because looking at rotations, Clarke was on the floor when Anderson was getting rest. The Grizzlies will get an uptick in possessions as well going up against the Pelicans who rank 7th in pace of play so Anderson could see a few more touches and hopefully continue to be productive at low ownership.

Value | Jae Crowder $4,800 BKN @ PHO

A lot of the field will be going to some of the other value plays that are in good spots tomorrow like Michael Porter Jr. $5,800, Robert Covington $5,500 and any of the Oklahoma City Thunder guys. I will play those guys as well but I also like the price we’re getting here on Jae Crowder. Crowder is cheaper than all of them and has similar upside. He’s coming off a 31.0 fantasy outing in which he only played 25 minutes and I think we could see a similar if not better performance tomorrow going up against the Nets as well as 2 or 3 more minutes. Targeting the Nets is always a viable strategy in DFS due to their defense arguably being the worst in the NBA and most of the time having the highest point total on the slate. I like the price tag on Crowder a lot and he projects well for me so if you’re looking to get off the chalk at Forward tomorrow he could be a viable pivot.

Fade | Kyle Kuzma $7,000 LAL @ MIN

With Anthony Davis (calf) ruled out for at least the next 2-3 weeks, possibly longer, Kyle Kuzma is one of the obvious beneficiaries but DraftKings has obviously already accounted for that. They have already priced him up to $7,000, his highest price tag of the season. Kuzma has only returned 5x the value of a 7K price tag twice the entire season and I don’t think that’s enough to end up optimal on tomorrow’s slate. My hopes are people still take their shots on him with the AD news and I can come in way under the field and take advantage of a mediocre performance from Kuzma.

Others I Like Zion Williamson $8,200, Khris Middleton $8,000, Jaylen Brown $7,800, Darius Bazley $6,100, Michael Porter Jr. $5,800, Robert Covington $5,500, Kenrich Williams $5,300, Bobby Portis $5,100, Derrick Jones Jr. $3,700

Centers

Top Play | Nikola Jokic $10,700 DEN @ BOS

Nikola Jokic is my favorite play on the slate as of right now and unless we get a bomb dropped tomorrow at some point when news starts to roll out I don’t see that changing. Same reasons Jamal Murray $7,200 will be a smash play for me tomorrow, the Joker is an even better one. Mike Malone asks a lot of Nikola Jokic on a regular day but with a 7 or 8 man rotation tomorrow Jokic is going to have to put the Nuggets on his back, a task the front runner for MVP is absolutely up for. As long as this game stays close we could see Jokic play 40 plus minutes and be the top play of the night tomorrow. The Joker is a walking triple-double, find a way to get him in your lineups.

Mid-tier | Deandre Ayton $7,100 BKN @ PHO

I love playing Centers against the Brooklyn Nets. They’re atrocious on the defensive side of the ball and big men absolutely dominate the them especially when they go to their small ball five lineup with Jeff Green $5,200 at Center. Deandre Ayton hasn’t been playing his best basketball as of late, not getting to 30 fantasy points in his last 3 outings but my hope is that people who are just game log watching overlook the great spot he’s in tomorrow night. His price is staying deflated due to recent play and that will give him even more cushion to crush value or at the very least easily return it. At just $7,100 Ayton has tons of upside and he easily fits into all roster constructions.

Value | Tristan Thompson $3,900 DEN @ BOS

This play totally rides on the status of Daniel Theis (finger) who is currently carrying a q-tag going in to tomorrow with a sprained finger. If Theis isn’t able to go then Tristan Thompson and even Robert Williams $3,100 would see a significant uptick in playing time. It won’t be an easy matchup going up against the Joker but if the game stays close Thompson will have to be on the floor to match Jokic size and he should be able to pay off a $3,900 price tag with those type of minutes.

Fade | Chris Boucher $6,600 TOR @ MIL

I was loving Chris Boucher when he was getting 33 minutes at $4,400, putting up a double-double and 49 fantasy points but now he’s just to expensive, not to mention his minutes are back to being volatile. Last game he only saw 18 minutes and didn’t produce much with his time on the court. He could still easily pay off $6,600 if Nick Nurse gives him the minutes but I’m not willing to take that chance on tomorrow’s slate and honestly don’t think there’s any need to with so many other viable options at center, like Deandre Ayton $7,100 for only $500 more!

Others I Like Karl-Anthony Towns $9,300 (I love KAT with Anthony Davis OUT), AL Horford $7,000, Enes Kanter $7,000, Montrezl Harrel $6,200, Steven Adams $5,100 (Good Value), Bobby Portis $5,100, DeAndre Jordan $4,500

Well that will do it for tomorrow’s 6 game NBA slate on DraftKings. I hope this article was able to help you and be sure to tune in to GoingFor2.com throughout the week for all your DFS lineup advice and much much more!
