DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 2/17/2021

We have a rather large 10 game slate tonight, but it is down 3 games due to Covid-19 postponements. The Pistons-Mavericks, The Spurs-Cavaliers, and The Bulls-Hornets games have all been postponed, adjust your lineups accordingly.

Be sure to check out today’s NBA Spreadsheet with projections. You can find it here.

Guards

Top Play | John Wall ($7,800)

John Wall continues to remain too cheap. Wall is coming ff his best outing of the season with 52.8 DK points. Victor Oladipo remains doubtful for tonight. Eric Gordon is also doubtful tonight. Wall should get all the usage in the world yet again, and his minutes have also increased when Gordon and Oladipo sit. Wall remains too cheap in an ok match-up vs The 76ers, making him my top play at any position.

Mid-tier | Jamal Murray ($7,100)

Jamal Murray gets a great match-up vs The Wizards who don’t play much defense to begin with, but he is also going to play a ton of minutes due to a banged up back court. Regardless of who is in or out on The Nuggets I think Murray is an exceptional play at just $7,100

Value | Jordan McLaughlin ($3,600)

I really wanted to talk about how much Facundo Campazzo is here, but with 2 more healthy guards for The Nuggets coming back in Gary Harris and P.J. Dozier I can’t mention him here. Monte Morris, Will Barton, and Paul Millsap all have a chance to play in this one as well. Let’s get into Jordan McLaughlin, D’Angelo Russell has just been ruled out for 4-6 weeks leaving The Timberwolves back court to Ricky Rubio and Jordan McLaughlin. J-MAC should see around 25 minutes tonight and is actually a pretty solid player, he is very cheap and could sniff 25-30 DK points

Fade | Trae Young ($9,600)

Trae Young has not been playing well for around a week or so. There has been games where he has shot 9 times. Young just doesn’t seem himself lately and there is no way I’m paying $9,600 for him.

Top Play | Jimmy Butler ($8,800)

Jimmy Butler is a player I almost never roster when he is around 9k, however The Heat need to start winning some games. The Heat are 11-16 right now, I don’t think that will sit well with Jimmy Butler who was in The Finals last year with The Heat. I think Jimmy Butler starts to take this personal and we all know he is a dog. Butler is coming off his best game of the season, but the price tag matches that.

Mid-tier | Anthony Edwards ($6,000)

Anthony Edwards has excelled the past two weeks with The Timberwolves. Edwards has seen a minutes bump recently, and is playing near 35 minutes a game. Edwards is also coming off his best outing of the season vs The Lakers putting up 51.3 DK points. Edwards is currently getting around 20 shot attempts per game as well. I have a feeling we may see Karl Anthony-Towns sit, but keep an eye on that news. I like Edwards a ton with or without KAT.

Value | David Nwaba ($4,300)

David Nwaba is another player coming off a career game which is not something I normal chase after, but he played 41 minutes and scored 41.8 DK points. Gordon and Oladipo are both going to sit yet again, don’t over think this one he is simply too cheap to not be rostered.

Fade | Domantas Sabonis ($9,700)

Domantas Sabonis is one of my favorite players in The NBA. This fade has a lot to do with the status of KAT, but if KAT plays there is no way I’m paying $9,700 for Sabonis.

Others I Like

Jayson Tatum ($8,700)

Zion Williamson ($8,200)

Centers

Top Play | Nikola Jokic ($11,000)

I’m using this photo of Jokic to show how far he has come. Remember that kid your parents told you not to worry about? That is what Nikola Jokic is, and he is now my MVP front runner. Jokic is absolutely incredible and has been all season long. He gets a dream match-up vs an under-sized Moritz Wagner. I doubt I get to Jokic tonight because the price tag is so steep, but it should be. I think Jokic has 80 DK point upside with a safe floor around 55.

Mid-tier | Clint Capela ($7,500)

Clint Capela is another player I almost never roster, but the price tag is fairly nice on Capela and The Celtics continue to struggle against Centers.

Value | Moritz Wagner ($3,800)

If Moritz Wagner starts I like him because he still remains cheap. The Wizards may not start him tonight because Jokic is a match-up nightmare for him. I worry he may get in foul trouble. He is very cheap do what you want here, but buyer beware.

Fade | DeMarcus Cousins ($6,500)

Normally I would look at The Rockets injury report and love DeMarcus Cousins, however he is lacking minutes in a big way reccently. I can’t pay $6,500 for anyone getting 20-25 minutes.
