DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 3/18

Thursday offers us a shorter 6-game slate with only two teams on a back to back. I expect tonight to favor a more balanced build, but there are a couple pay up spots I will be making a priority today.

As always, be sure to check out today’s NBA Spreadsheet with projections. You can find it here.

Guards

Top PlayDamian Lillard – Portland Trail Blazers PG – $11,000
Yes, Dame Lillard is the highest price option on the slate and no, you should expect him to repeat is 75 point performance from his last time out. However, on a short slate (like tonight’s) it is important build around raw points and Dame is one of the safest ways to build that base. I expect this game to match the pace of their matchup two nights ago and for Lillard to continue to score at an elite level.

Mid-tierDevin Booker – Phoenix Suns SG – $7,900
I went back and forth between Booker and CP3 in the mid-tier, but ultimately landed on Booker as the higher upside play. If you’re looking for a safe floor, Paul is the move. Both find themselves in a plus matchup against the Timberwolves and I expect Bookers slightly higher price tag to keep his ownership low tonight. Look for Booker to continue to dominate the scoring in Phoenix and flirt with 50-point upside tonight.

Value | Ricky Rubio – Minnesota Timberwolves PG – $5,800
I’m headed right to the other side of this game for our value guard. Rubio has been a steady value since re-entering the starting lineup in mid-February and has heated up as of late. He’s averaging 33.75 DK points since the all star break and has been staying busy defensively with nearly 2 steals per game over that stretch. Rubio likely won’t bring a gaudy scoring total, but he does more than enough defensively and distributing the ball to make him a “yes” tonight.

Forwards

Top PlayAnthony Edwards- Minnesota Timberwolves SF/SF – $7,100
Anthony Edwards has arrived as a star in this league and is consistently one of my go-to options in DFS. He has stepped into his role as the Timberwolves primary scorer over the last month or so and has averaged nearly 23 shot attempts over his last 8 games. While he has gotten the green light to shoot, his shooting avg of just 38.5% means that he carries a ton of upside if he can be even a little bit more efficient as a shooter.

Mid-tierKyle Kuzma – Los Angeles Lakers SF/PF – $6,000
With Anthony Davis still sidelined, there has been a ton of usage available to the broader Lakers roster and Kyle Kuzma has stepped forth to claim that usage for himself. Over his last 4 games, Kuzma is averaging almost 30 minutes per game and is averaging just over 38 DK points/game in that time. His rebounding is really what has stepped up of late, where he’s had double-digit boards in 4 of his last 6 games and should flirt with another double_double performance tonight.

Value | Rui Hachimura – Washington Wizards PF/C – $5,600
The Washington front court is still riddled with injury and Rui has stepped into the void nicely. Over his last 3 games he’s averaging 37.6 minutes and nearly 42 DK points per night and tonight lines up as another game where injuries secure Rui’s opportunity. Utah has been tough against forwards this year, but I simply can’t walk away from a $5.6k player who will see this much playing time.

Centers

Top PlayJohn Collins – Atlanta Hawks PF/C – $7,200
If you’ve been playing Collins while Clint Capela has been injured, you’ve likely found yourself on the right side of the payline. In those games, he’s averaged nearly 45 DK points and has been seeing the floor 32 minutes a game. Now he gets an OKC team that is 29th in DK scoring to his position and is dealing with injury issues in its own right.

Mid-tierMontrezl Harrell – Los Angeles Lakers C – $6,400
Montrezl Harrell has stepped into the starting lineup since returning from the all star break and has made the absolute most of the opportunity. Over that stretch he’s averaging nearly 24 points and has been very busy defensively with 6.8 boards and 2.6 stocks per game. No signs of that slowing down tonight and I love locking Harrell into my Center spot.

Value | Moses Brown – Oklahoma City Thunder C – $4,500
If you rostered Moses for his 51 point performance the other night, you don’t need me telling you that this kid has major upside. Granted, his role did expand with Al Horford getting scratched for rest. I don’t think we can bank on another 50-point outing from Moses, but he has been a focal point for this team since returning from the break (averaging 25 minutes per game) and he sets up to deliver nice value from the bargain bin tonight.
