NBA DFS Legend

Nothing But NetMy top plays of the night at his position.
DunkA Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.
Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

Guards

Nothing But Net | Kyrie Irving (BKN) $8,900 @ BOS

DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice Christmas Day 12/25

This will be Irving’s first trip back to Boston since his ugly exit two seasons ago. I don’t normally buy the “revenge narrative” because players are coached to play within the system, however, when the player is a point guard with a 33 percent usage rate and mentality like Irving, the revenge narrative is a full go. The Vegas game total isn’t as high as GSW/MIL or DAL/LAL, but the spread has the Nets favored by only 3.5, meaning a close game and a lot of minutes for Irving.

Dunk | Jaylen Brown (BOS) $7,000 vs. BKN

Sticking with that same game, we saw Brown on Wednesday explode for 52.8 DK points, logging nearly 38 minutes. This type of production can become the norm with Kemba Walker out for a while. DraftKings didn’t raise his price enough, going up only $300.

Half-Court Shot | Jeff Teague (BOS) $4,200 @ BKN

He was my value play in my last article on Wednesday as well, and he paid off nicely with low-ownership to boot. His price rose only $200 after hitting 9-times value two days ago. He may not hit 9-times again, but even if he hits 6-times, he is worth the salary relief.

Blocked Shot | None

Forwards

Nothing But Net | Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL) $10,900 vs. GSW

I suggested fading the Greek Freak on Wednesday, and through three-quarters I looked like a genius. Than Giannis went Giannis in the fourth and salvaged his night. I also said, because it was a 13-game slate that it was okay to fade him. This is not a 13-game slate, and, outside of a few players, no one has his upside. There is a potential blow-out factor here, but on a 5-game slate, you have to find a way to play Giannis.

Dunk | Caris LeVert (BKN) $7,200 @ BOS

LeVert only played 25 minutes in the season opener but managed to stuff the stat sheet with a 33 percent usage rate. He is a bit more expensive today, and his minutes will likely remain under 30, but he has the most upside for a sub-8k player on this slate.

Half-Court Shot | Gary Harris (DEN) $5,200 vs. LAC

Harris didn’t play particularly well from a fantasy stand-point in Denver’s season opener. However, he did play 42-plus minutes and is capable of putting up good numbers.

Blocked Shot | Brandon Ingram (NO) $8,300 @ MIA

Ingram has struggled somewhat against the Heat in the past. If Jimmy Butler ends up playing, I don’t want to pay $8,300 for Ingram in this game.

Centers

Nothing But Net | Nikola Jokic (DEN) vs. LAC

DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice Christmas Day 12/25

Coming off a game in which he nearly put up 80 DK points, and his price only rising $500, Jokic will be in a lot of my lineups today.

Dunk | Bam Adebayo (MIA) $7,800 vs. NO

Adebayo averaged over 46 DK points in two games against the Pelicans last season in two games. The presence of Steven Adams probably helps a little, but with limited “true center” options, I like Bam at $7,800 in what should be a pace-up game for him.

Half-Court Shot | Paul Millsap (DEN) $4,900 vs. LAC

Millsap played over 36 minutes in the Nuggets season opener and put up 6-times value with 29.8 DK points. His matchup is a little tougher against the Clippers, but he is also a $100 cheaper. Paying $4,900 for a player getting 36-plus minutes in a game Vegas projects to be close on a 5-game slate? Yes, please.

Blocked Shot | Zion Williamson (NO) $8,100 @ MIA

I would like to see his usage rate a little higher than the 23 percent he saw in the season opener before I pay $8,100. This will be a pace-down game for Zion and the Pels, and at his price tag, there are better options.
