DFS NFL DraftKings Lineup Advice Week 3 (9/27/2020)

Explosive PlayMy top play for the position
Deep ThreatA deep threat is a second or third tier player that will outperform their price on FanDuel/DraftKings.
Hail MaryAlso know as a punt, a Hail Mary is a cheap, low-owned player with a ton of upside. Great for GPP's.
Missed TackleA missed tackle is a first or second tier player that I’ll be fading in my contests.

*note* Prices are based on DraftKings, but most plays will crossover to FanDuel as well

*note* Main slate only

Explosive Play | Kyler Murray (ARI) $6,800 vs. DET

The Detroit defense is ranked 24th in DVOA against the pass, but even if they were ranked in the top 10 it wouldn’t matter with Murray’s ability to run. Everyone will be on the Dallas/Seattle game, and rightfully so, but I think this game has some sneaky offensive firepower. Kenny Golladay returns for Detroit, boosting this Detroit passing game, and I expect the Lions to be able to score some points, forcing the Cardinals to put up some points of their own.

Deep Threat | Joe Burrow (CIN) $6,200 @ PHI

Burrow looked good last week against the Browns, throwing for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns. The game script in that game forced Burrow to throw it 61 times. I don’t think the Bengals defense will be able to stop the Eagles, which will force Burrow to air it out once again.

Hail Mary | Jared Goff (LAR) $5,600 @ BUF

The Bills have looked like a new team offensively this year. Josh Allen is airing it out more than anyone expected him to, and the two running backs have barely been used. Their defense has been a new team as well, but for the wrong reasons. They’ve allowed both the Jets and the Dolphins to hang around into the fourth quarters, allowing over 200 yards passing to Sam Darnold and over 300 yards passing to Ryan Fitzpatrick. I don’t need to tell you that the Dolphins and Jets aren’t exactly NFL royalty. If they play like that against Goff and the Rams, they could be in for a long day.

Missed Tackle | Deshaun Watson (HOU) $6,500 @ PIT

Poor Watson. He gets the defending Super Bowl Champion Chiefs in Week 1, then league MVP Lamar Jackson and their No. 1 rated offense with an equally good secondary in Week 2, and now he gets the team that many believe is the best defense in the NFL. Ugh.

Others I like:

  1. Dak Prescott $7,200
  2. Russell Wilson $7,300
  3. Josh Allen $6,900
  4. Philip Rivers $6,000

Explosive Play | Derrick Henry (TEN) $7,800 @ MIN

This. Is. It. The Derrick Henry week is here. I thought it was last week, I was wrong. The Vikings have not looked good on defense nor offense through two weeks. The Titans will go up early in this game and then the Vikings will get a huge dose of King Henry

Deep Threat | Miles Sanders (PHI) $6,400 vs. CIN

Last week both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt exploited this Bengals defense with Chubb going over 100 yards rushing and Hunt chipping in another 86. Sanders looked healthy last week and should have no problem find holes to run through in this defense.

Hail Mary | Jeff Wilson Jr. (SF) $4,000 @ NYG

The 49ers aren’t ready to give Jerrick McKinnon the full workload, as they have been limiting his snaps over the first two games as he works himself back from his second major injury. That leaves Jeff Wilson Jr. to carry the load on first and second down, and he is no slouch in the passing game either. McKinnon has the higher ceiling, Wilson the higher floor.

Missed Tackle |  Dalvin Cook (MIN) $7,600 vs. TEN

The Vikings offense looks terrible. I want no part of it this week against a good Titans defense.

Others I like:

  1. Chris Carson $6,600
  2. Nick Chubb $6,900
  3. Kenyan Drake $6,000
  4. Joe Mixon $5,900
  5. Mike Davis $5,100

Explosive Play | Deandre Hopkins (ARI) $7,900 vs. DET

Hopkins has 25 targets through two games, that’s a 16-game pace of 200 targets. I know he won’t get 200 targets, but it goes to show you just how much he is involved in this passing game. As I mentioned in my blurb about Kyler Murray, this Detroit team can put up points, but on the flip side, their defense can’t stop anyone. I will have some Murray/Hopkins stacks in tournaments.

Deep Threat | Allen Robinson (CHI) $6,200 @ ATL

This will be the week Robinson breaks out of his two-game funk. The Falcons have been involved with two of the highest-scoring games on the season, and we saw what happened last week against Dallas. The Falcons will put up a ton of points, and they will give up a ton of points.

Hail Mary | N’Keal Harry (NEP) $4,200 vs. LV

I’m just going to put Harry in my article every week and will him into a breakout season. I was high on him coming into the season, and after he received 12 targets in Week 2, I feel that breakout is coming soon. At $4,200, it’s worth it to take that bet.

Missed Tackle | Julio Jones (ATL) $7,400 vs. CHI

Jones had an uncharacteristic bad game last week, then we found out he has a hammy issue. I’m not willing to pay his price for a possible decoy.

Others I like:

  1. DK Metcalf $6,500
  2. Keenan Allen $6,100
  3. Ceedee Lamb $5,400
  4. Jerry Jeudy $5,000
  5. Golden Tate $4,500
  6. Darnell Mooney $3,000

Explosive Play |  Jonnu Smith (JAX) $5,200 @ MIN

I’ve already deemed this King Henry week, but Smith will still be able to get his in this game. The Vikings just aren’t good.

Deep Threat | Hayden Hurst (ATL) $4,700 vs. CHI

Hurst had a nice game last week and gained the trust of Matt Ryan. He will look to continue that trend in Week 3 home game.

Hail Mary | Drew Sample (CIN) $3,500 @ PHI

The Eagles gave up a touchdown to tight end Logan Thomas in Week 1, and then followed it up by giving up three TDs to Tyler Higbee. Sample played well in relief of Uzomah, he will look to build on that in Week 3.

Missed Tackle | Darren Waller (LV) $5,700 @ NE

Bill Belichick won’t let Waller do to him what he did to the Saints last week. He will take the option away from Derek Carr and make him look elsewhere.

Others I like:

  1. Noah Fant $5,400
  2. TJ Hockenson $5,300
  3. Mo Alie-Cox $3,800 *if Jack Doyle is OUT

Defense

Explosive Play | Colts vs. NYJ $4,100

I had the Colts as a top 5 defense coming in to the season, but even they don’t end up being top 5, this game is against the Jets.

Deep Threat | Chargers vs. CAR $3,600

The Panthers were bad with Christian McCaffery, I can only imagine how bad they’ll look this week against a team that made the Chiefs look beatable in Week 2.

Hail Mary | Giants vs. SF $2,700

So many team across the league decided to play their games with no fans. The 49ers are the first team to decide to play their games with no players. Let’s see how that works out for them.

Missed Tackle | 49ers @ NYG $3,500
