DFS NFL Preseason FanDuel & DraftKings Week 1 Advice (8/10)

*I’m only going to feature players that were exclusive to this slate. Some players were on yesterday’s slate and my analysis didn’t change much. You can check out yesterday’s article here.

** I prefer more players from yesterday’s articles than I do the guys in this article, but a few of these guys sprinkled in with the guys I featured yesterday can make for a good lineup.

Quarterbacks

Chase Daniel (NO) @ CLE

DFS NFL preseason fanduel draftkings lineup week 1 8/10Daniel is back where he started his career in a familiar role backing up Drew Brees. He knows the offense well, and outside of Brees, is the best QB on the roster. He should lead at least one touchdown drive before being pulled.

Brett Hundley (GB) vs PHI

A bit of a wildcard, but we know that Aaron Rodgers won’t play much, if at all, in this game leaving Hundley to play a good amount of snaps. He ran the first team offense early in camp and could get the start if Rodgers doesn’t suit up.

Running Backs

Corey Clement (PHI) @ GB

DFS NFL preseason fanduel draftkings lineup week 1 8/10The Philly backfield has a ton of questions marks and early camp injuries. Wendell Smallwood and Ryan Mathews are both listed as questionable on DraftKings, and Donnel Pumphrey injured his hamstring a few short days ago. Clement isn’t likely to be anything more than a practice squad player, but I can see him getting all the late third quarter and entire fourth quarter carries.

Brandon Wilds (NO) @ CLE

Here is another guy that isn’t likely to make an active roster, but could end up with the majority of the Week 1 preseason snaps. He will be the one out there in the third and fourth quarters.

Alvin Kamara (NO) @ CLE

It’s always a good idea to play rookies in Week 1. Kamara has received a lot of preseason hype and some think he will end up the starter in New Orleans before the end of the season. Either way, he should get plenty of work in this game.

Wide Receivers

Marcus Johnson (PHI) vs GB

Johnson (hamstring) returned to practice Tuesday and as long as he is healthy, he should get a lot of snaps. Most of the Eagles receiving corps is established and likely won’t get a ton of work. Johnson is making a push for the final WR spot on the team, he will want to make a good showing here.

Trevor Davis (GB) @ PHI

Packers receivers coach Luke Getsy said of Davis,

I’m excited for Trevor. I think he is going to have a really big August for us…. I’m excited to see him grow in August.

Noticed how he mentioned August twice. The second-year player won’t see much of the field in the regular season, but with an established corps of guys in front of him, he will likely get the lion’s share of playing time in the preseason.

Tight Ends

I don’t like any of the tight ends expect the ones I featured in yesterday’s article.

Defense

I don’t like any of the defenses except the ones I featured in yesterday’s article.
