DraftKings Value Plays- NFL Week 4 (9/29/19)

Week 3 broke the curse! Nobody named in the article suffered a horrible injury. As an added bonus, the plays performed pretty well and hopefully helped you climb the leader board.

The theme for Week 4 values is injury replacements, young quarterbacks, and stars in the making playing in prime time in Week 3. I will touch on a few of my favorites.

Please note, a ton can (and will) change between article posting and kickoff, follow me on Twitter for all my thoughts on additional value coming and going before lineups lock.

QUARTERBACK

Joe Flacco ($4,600), Denver Broncos vs. Jacksonville Jaguars:

Caution: not for the faint of heart. There are plenty of good values (Kyle Allen and Danny Dimes) so this is strictly a #YOLO GPP Play. The Jaguars defense is highly overrated, especially in the passing department. It appears Jalen Ramsey is going to miss this game (back, cold, baby) so the only threat on the back end will be gone. Think this is a prime spot for Flacco to show his Denver home he is #elite.

RUNNING BACK

Wayne Gallman ($4,600), New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins:

The name you have probably heard a lot this week as you prep for season long and daily fantasy. Gallman steps into the starting role for the foreseeable future while Saquon is out with a high ankle sprain. Gallman doesn’t have half the talent but should get about 75% of the responsibility Saquon had with this team which makes him playable at his current price tag. He isn’t the sexiest of plays, but the Redskins are bottom 7 DVOA against the run and the Giants are expected to have a lead which makes Wayne Gallman a play for me.

WIDE RECEIVER

Terry McLaurin ($4,500), Washington Redskins at New York Giants:

Note: McLaurin popped up on the injury report as I was writing this so stay alert in case we get details he will miss.

Going right back to this game but taking the other side of the ball. McLaurin has caught at least 5 passes and 1 touchdown in each of his first three games as a rookie. People saw his performance on MNF (assuming people watched that horrible game) so he will be popular but the Giants are abysmal against the pass so I will play the chalk.

Emmanuel Sanders ($4,900) Denver Broncos vs Jacksonville Jaguars:

Last week was a dud vs. a very good defense. This week Manny Sanders faces another perceived good defense in the Jaguars. That perception is not a reality as the Jags have actually struggled so far against the pass. Even if Jalen Ramsey plays, which isn’t likely, he won’t travel in the slot that often to guard against Sander. I like Sanders to get about 7-8 targets in this game and turn them into 15-20 points with upside for more.

TIGHT END

Will Dissly ($3,600), Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals:

Arizona has given up loads of TE points to T.J. Hockenson, Mark Andrews, and Greg Olsen. Next on the agenda is Will Dissly who is averaging about 55 yards and 1.5 TD’s over the past few weeks. If he gets 50 yards and finds pay dirt against the worst team against TD’s, he pays off his price tag. If I am going cheap at TE, I won’t overthink it.

DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAMS

Denver Broncos ($2,900) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars:

The Broncos are getting heavily criticized (and rightfully so) for having zero sacks and zero interceptions through 3 games. However, two of those games came on the road and the other one was against a Bears team that actively tries to hide the passing game. I will take a gamble with the home defense facing a rookie QB. There is risk the Jag’s take the air out of the ball and limit plays for the defense but this is a value article. All the obvious defenses are priced up above $3,000. I currently have Denver as the 3rd highest ceiling behind the Bears and Chargers so they are well worth the risk.
