Fanduel MLB Lineup Advice 5/23

We had a great day yesterday with awesome performances from Max Scherzer and Brandon Belt. Let’s continue through Memorial Day weekend with more cashing on Saturday!

Pitchers

Corey Kluber, CLE – $10,500

He’s Klubot, he’s on fire, and fading him tomorrow is for the boldest of the bold.

Shelby Miller, ATL – $9,500

The former Cardinal has been nothing short of phenomenal this season, with a pristine ERA and WHIP of 1.33 and 0.83 respectively. Two of his last three starts have been complete game shutouts, and he enters a good matchup on Saturday against the Brewers who rank in the bottom third of the league in most offensive categories. Right-handed hitters are only batting .109 against Miller, and the struggling Milwaukee lineup is certainly righty dominant. Look for Miller to have no-hit stuff again on Saturday, and hopefully he can rack up a good amount of strikeouts while going late into the game.

Other options: Matt Harvey (NYM), C.J. Wilson (LAA), Rubby de la Rosa (ARI)

Hitters

Evan Gattis, C, DET – $3,500

After an extremely slow start to the season, the Astros DH has been hitting much better in May (6 HR, 16 RBI, .786 OPS) and he has a great matchup against southpaw Kyle Lobstein on Saturday. Gattis has actually been hitting worse against lefties this season, but I fully expect him to buck that trend against the Tigers lefty. Lobstein has a 5.32 ERA at home, and righties are hitting 90 points better against him (.308 BA given up to righties vs .220 BA allowed to lefties) on the season. I like stacking the Astros tomorrow, and if you had to choose one batter from that lineup I would certainly go with the former Atlanta Brave Gattis.

James Loney, 1B, TB – $2,500

While it’s no secret that his power numbers are on the decline, in the past seven days Loney has posted a cool .409 average (9-for-22) with two doubles and 4 RBI. The Rays first baseman has a solid matchup on Saturday, going up against pedestrian right-hander Kendall Graveman of the A’s. Loney is slashing .293/.341/.387 against righties this season, and 9 of his 11 RBI have come from the right side of the plate. The veteran lefty is a slam-dunk value pick that can help you afford an expensive ace, just make sure he’s in the lineup before first pitch.
