Fanduel MLB Lineup Advice 6/11

[do_widget subscribe]

It was another awkward night for pitching, but luckily my three Diamondbacks (Goldy, Tomas, Pollock) all came through with a home run so it was a successful night! Thursday is a smaller slate, but still equally as fun in my opinion so let’s get into the picks!

Pitchers

Garrett Richards, LAA – $8,600

While the ace of the Angels’ staff lasted only 2/3 of an inning in his last start with 6 earned runs allowed, he seems to be the play of the night tonight against a suspect Rays lineup. Despite his recent struggles, opponents are still only hitting .231 against Richards and he is always a candidate for lots of strikeouts on any given night. The Rays lineup is pretty righty-heavy, and the Trop (Tropicana Field) in Tampa Bay is a pitcher-friendly park. Pitching is once again pretty weak tonight, but Richards seems like the guy to have, especially in cash games.

Tanner Roark, WAS – $5,800

I made the mistake of not playing Charlie Morton last night against the Brew Crew (I was so close to starting him), but I don’t think I’m going to make the same mistake tonight with Roark. Milwaukee has the LOWEST batting average of any team in the majors (.230) and they are in the bottom four in MLB in runs scored. Roark has only faced the Brewers hitters a handful of times in his career, which could definitely play to his advantage on Thursday night. I’m hoping for a quality start from the Nationals starter with 5+ K’s, and hopefully that juicy win matched up with the aging Matt Garza.

Other options: Tim Lincecum (SF), Alex Colome (TB), Chris Rusin (COL)

Hitters

Buster Posey, C (SF) – $3,700

Posey is having another fantastic season thus far for the surprising Giants, and he is a great play on Thursday night going up against lefty Jon Niese of the Mets. The Giants backstop is actually slashing worse against southpaws on the year, but Niese is pretty bad and throws in the high 80s, if that. Righties are slugging .512 against Niese and his ERA at home is actually worse than on the road. Look for Posey to have an awesome night at the dish tonight!

Erick Aybar, SS (LAA) – $2,500

One of my value picks of the night, Aybar will go up against an average righty in Alex Colome of the Rays. The Angels shortstop has 1 HR and 14 RBI against right-handed pitching this year to go along with three stolen bases. DFSers have to love that he bats at the top of the lineup, and ahead of guys like Trout and Pujols. Make sure he’s in the lineup on Thursday night, but at $2,500, Aybar is going to be hard to pass on.

Other options: Anthony Rizzo – 1B (CHC), Denard Span – OF (WAS), Jay Bruce – OF (CIN)
