Fantasy Basketball: Add’em or Drop’em for 11/23-11/29

Alright, GF2 fans, it’s time once again for my Add’em or Drop’em players for fantasy basketball! I was super high on a few of these guys who we’re about to cover, especially Danny Green for this season. Sometimes we all have those players who we just can’t part ways with, but winning weekly is the most important thing with fantasy sports. I’m going to give you all five guys who I believe you should either add off of waivers or drop from your squad this week.

So, here’s my Add’em or Drop’em players for this week:

Danny Green, Spurs SG

Green is owned in 64.2 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. Coming into the 2015 season, I was fully expecting Green to take the step to the next level for our fantasy teams, boy was I wrong. He has taken a major step backwards this year and doesn’t look to be improving anytime soon. So far this season, Green has averaged 7.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. He’s only receiving just 28.6 minutes per contest this season, which also makes me want to stay away from him. Also, Green has shot just 33 percent from the field and a dreadful 29 percent from three-point range this year.

Verdict: Drop’em

Al-Farouq Aminu, Trailblazers SF

Aminu is owned in 75.0 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. After leaving the Mavericks, I wasn’t too sure what Aminu’s role would be with his new team in Portland. Well, he’s looking great so far this season and has fit in well with this Blazers squad. In 2015, Aminu has averaged 12.9 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest. He’s seen an average of 33.1 minutes per game, which gives him plenty of time to stuff the stat sheets. The best part about Aminu’s game is that he’s a small forward who plays like a power forward, meaning he has plenty of opportunities to grab us all rebounds every night.

Verdict: Add’em

Tyson Chandler, Suns C

Chandler is owned in 71.1 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. Like Aminu, Chandler left his Mavericks team to play elsewhere. So far in his tenure with the Suns, he has averaged 6.1 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. He’s been way too inconsistent in his 26.8 minutes per night and honestly isn’t getting any younger. I wasn’t expecting a career revitalizing year for Chandler, but I was wanting to see a little more consistency from the veteran.

Verdict: Drop’em

Jae Crowder, Celtics SF

Crowder is owned in 47.5 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. Crowder is one of those types of grind it out players who can give you solid fantasy numbers across the board. This year, he has averaged 11.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Crowder is also one of the league’s leaders in steals, averaging 2.8 per contest this year. He averages 30.5 minutes per game and when he’s dialed in he can really get you some nice fantasy numbers, so he’s worth an add for you all.

Verdict: Add’em

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Pistons SG

Caldwell-Pope is owned in 67.2 percent of ESPN fantasy basketball leagues this season. Before the season started, I was all in on this Pistons team for fantasy purposes. Well, some of the guys have shined such as Andre Drummond and Marcus Morris, but Caldwell-Pope has been rather disappointing. This year, he has averaged 13.5 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 37.6 minutes per contest. Caldwell-Pope has only shot 31 percent from the field in 2015, so other than scoring points he gives us no other stats to justify owning him.

Verdict: Drop’em
