Fantasy Football: Week 10 Cut’em or Keep’em

It’s time once again GF2 fans for my weekly Cut’em or Keep’em players for fantasy football! Week 10 of the NFL season is approaching and fantasy playoff time is drawing awfully close. It’s time to start making the tough decisions and either cut or keep some of your guys who you’ve held on to this season. It’s not always easy to cut bait with a player who you’ve invested so much time into, but it has to be done to be a successful fantasy owner.

So, here’s my Week 10 Cut’em or Keep’em players:

Jeremy Maclin, Chiefs WR

Maclin is owned in 92.6 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues this season. Coming into the 2015 season, we weren’t very sure how Maclin would fit in with this Chiefs squad. So far, he’s had decent success with his old coach in Philly Andy Reid. This year, he has caught 42 balls for 566 yards and two scores. Maclin doesn’t have groundbreaking numbers, but he has seen 61 targets from Alex Smith and seems to really have the quarterback’s trust. Not only do I see more touchdowns in his future, I also see a very easy fantasy playoff schedule for Maclin. Kansas City will face off against the Raiders, Ravens and Chargers during your fantasy playoffs, which are all horrible teams against wide receivers this season.

Verdict: Keep’em

Russell Wilson, Seahawks QB

Wilson is owned in 93.9 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues this season. Over the last few seasons, Wilson has been a quality fantasy quarterback for us all, but this season just hasn’t been the same. In 2015, he has thrown for 1,878 yards, nine touchdowns and six interceptions. Wilson holds a disgusting 63.46 QBR and has completed 68.8 percent of his passing attempts. Not only has Wilson vastly underachieved this year, but he’s bringing the once great fantasy stud tight end Jimmy Graham down with him. With a tough schedule ahead of him and a bad offensive line protecting him, Wilson should be placed on your waiver wire.

Verdict: Cut’em

Eddie Lacy, Packers RB

Lacy is owned in 98.8 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues this season. I can’t tell you guys how disappointed I’ve been all season long with Lacy. This season, he’s rushed the ball 83 times for 308 yards and two scores. Where in the world did the guy go who dominated the fantasy world just a year ago? Well, it’s been a weird season for Lacy mostly due to a nagging ankle injury. So the question is what do you do with most likely your 1st Round pick? You keep him on your bench for another week and pray that the Packers find a way to get him better involved going forward. As his ankle continues to heal and the weather begins to get colder around the nation, then I believe Lacy will be a solid asset going forward.

Verdict: Keep’em

DeSean Jackson, Redskins WR

Jackson is owned in 74.6 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues this season. Most of you have done one of two things with Jackson this year, either you picked him up off of waivers or have held on to him all season long. Either way, his return to the field finally in Week 9 was an absolute let down. In Week 9, Jackson gave an underwhelming performance, catching three passes for 15 yards. He just doesn’t seem to have a solid connection with Washington’s quarterback Kirk Cousins. If Robert Griffin was still leading this offense, then I would be all for keeping Jackson on my fantasy roster, but he’s not so you know what you have to do.

Verdict: Cut’em

Travis Benjamin, Browns WR

Benjamin is owned in 82.2 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues this season. This season, Benjamin has been the definition of a “boom or bust” player. In 2015, he has caught 41 passes for 623 yards and four touchdowns. Benjamin has seen 71 total targets and averages right at 69.2 yards per game. Starting quarterback Josh McCown has been in and out of the lineup over the past few weeks, which has hurt Benjamin’s production. Here’s the thing, though, he’s a big play guy that even Johnny Manziel can take advantage of, so you must keep him on your squad for the time being.

Verdict: Keep’em
