Fantasy Football Week 10 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense

Before the unveil of Week 10’s streamers, let’s look at how Week 9’s streamers (Yahoo! scoring; 0.5-point PPR).

Quarterback: Tua Tagovailoa-0 points
Tight End: Dan Arnold-8 points
Team Defense: New Orleans Saints-2 points

Having my streaming quarterback declared out right before the game was not helpful, so hopefully you pivoted to one of my “others to consider.”

Here are quarterback, tight end and team defense fantasy streamers for Week 10. The Cincinnati Bengals, Chicago Bears, Houston Texans and New York Giants are on a bye.

Quarterback: Teddy Bridgewater, Denver Broncos vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Bridgewater had an efficient outing against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 9, going 19-for-28 for 249 yards and a touchdown while adding a rushing score. He has accounted for multiple touchdowns in four of the last five games, and in six of eight games he has finished this season. He has topped 19.5 fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring) five times this season, with more than 20 fantasy points four times.

In Week 10 Bridgewater gets the Philadelphia Eagles, who are in the top half of the league against quarterbacks. But they’ve allowed multiple passing touchdowns and at least 297 passing yards in three of their last four games. In general this season, capable quarterbacks have had their way against them. Facing Jimmy Garoppolo, Sam Darnold and Jared Goff has helped their standing against quarterbacks.

Wherever you think Bridgewater sits on the Goff/Darnold-Tom Brady/Patrick Mahomes scale among quarterbacks the Eagles have faced, there’s no denying he has produced fantasy points more often than not. He also has a full complement of weapons now that Jerry Jeudy is back, and as long as Noah Fant is back from the COVID-19 list. In a fairly light week for quarterback streamers, Bridgewater has to be the top guy.

Others To Consider: Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Detroit Lions; Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons at Dallas Cowboys (check availability); Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts; Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns at New England Patriots; Taylor Heinicke, Washington Football Team vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tight End: Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Detroit Lions

Freiermuth had five catches for 43 yards and two touchdowns against the Chicago Bears in Week 9, as he has taken over No.1 tight end duties from Eric Ebron. The rookie out of Penn State has three touchdowns over the last two games with Ebron (hamstring) out, and over his last three games he has 20 targets with over 40 yards and over 12 full PPR points in all three.

Week 10’s matchup doesn’t look that great, as the Detroit Lions are in the top-12 of the league against tight ends (Yahoo!, 0.5-point PPR). But six tight ends have put up more than 9.5 full PPR points against them this season in eight games, and one of the two that didn’t averaged 12.5 yards per catch.

Ebron’s possible return against one of his former teams might impact Freiermuth, but it really shouldn’t. He is looking like a legit TE1, and he’s available enough to be my top tight end streamer for Week 10.

Others to Consider: Logan Thomas, Washington Football Team vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (check status); Dan Arnold, Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts; Tyler Conklin, Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Chargers; Hunter Henry, New England Patriots vs. Cleveland Browns (check availability)

Team Defense: Tennessee Titans vs. New Orleans Saints

In Week 9 against the Los Angeles Rams, the Titans allowed 16 points while sacking Matthew Stafford five times and intercepting him twice (including a pick-six). They have multiple takeaways and/or multiple sacks five straight games (both four times), with at least 12 fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring) four times in that span.

The New Orleans Saints have not been generous to opposing defenses, with zero interceptions thrown (and only two giveaways) over their last three games. Over their last four games, they’ve scored at least 25 points three times. But they are down to Trevor Siemian and Taysom Hill at quarterback, and wide receiver Michael Thomas is not going to suit up this season.

Tennessee’s defense looked pretty good over a tough stretch of schedule. The Saints’ offense is not on the level of their recent opponents, and playing at home on Sunday is another point in the Titans’ corner.
